What is LARC Test?

The LARC Test is a simple yet effective way to determine your horses health and fitness after performance using 3 variables to instantly show the current fitness levels of your horse after a run.

We measure the heart, lungs, and muscles to immediately show how the horse handled the run on a physiological level. Immediately after a run we will measure the heart rate, respiration rate, and with a small sample of blood we measure the lactate level. With these results we can also identify if there are any underlying health issues in these systems that should be addressed with your vet.

We then use this information to create a customized conditioning program for your horse!

Exciting to announce that I am now a certified LARC Technician! A little about myself :

My name is Alexi Buffalo, I am originally from Maskwacis, Alberta, Canada. I now reside in Browning, Montana. After starting my early career in show jumping, I found my passion in barrel racing, which led me to move to the USA and rodeo for the University of Montana-Western.

I earned a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and minors in Equine Science and Coaching. I developed a strong interest in strength training, focusing on achieving peak performance, while minimizing the risk of injury in athletes.
