Truth!

Just because you start with good breeders doesn’t mean the offspring won’t be even better.

Too many people are quick to judge a bird before it’s had time to grow. Some of the best birds in a program didn’t look like much as youngsters, and some of the most impressive breeders have produced offspring that surpassed them.

That’s why growing them out matters.

Patience is one of the most valuable tools a breeder can have. Give them time to develop, mature, and show you what they’re capable of before making decisions. You might be surprised by what comes out of your breeding pens.

Sometimes the next generation isn’t just carrying on the line—it’s improving it.

A little reminder: don’t cull your expectations too early. The ugly duckling today might be the bird everyone wants tomorrow. 🖤

Y'all!! Look at this handsome boy I picked up today 😍

I went and picked up this sweet lavender roo someone hatched from Sarah's Silkies & More! She hatched some eggs from Sarah to be pets, but sadly can't keep roos. I also just placed some lavender eggs from The Spotted Feather in the incubator, so if everything works out, he will be placed over any females that hatch. So excited to finally have one of my dream colors! I also had my order of mottleds from Sunset Hill arrive, so I'll have new genetics for my black mottled pen! Now I just need blue mottled and some nice whites 😍😂

What do you guys think I got from The Spotted Feather ? I also have some eggs hopefully arriving tomorrow from Sunset Hill Silkies. Side note, I absolutely love this packaging and the little key chain 🥰 so cute!

Yesterday, I had a satin mille trio head off to their new home. With them went my sweet naked neck frizzle roo. It was a hard choice to make, but I knew it was in the best interest of my black mottled breeding pen and him ❤️‍🩹 Good luck on your new adventure, buddy!

ISO lavender Silkie hatching eggs!

No frizzles or satin frizzles. Silkie and satin feathering only. Any satin offspring must be split to Silkie if satins are possible. ONLY black split to lav—no other colors. No cuckoo or mottled. Must be bred to SOP. Hopefully what I’m asking for makes sense and is out there somewhere! 🤣

A few days ago, I traded a few quality Silkie chicks and an older pullet for a breeding pair of quality Kikirikis! I traded with someone who I’d say is one of the best Kikiriki breeders in my state. These are my first pair of Kikirikis, and I’m so excited to have them! They are 5 months old and still have a bit of maturing to do 🥰😍
