Hernando County Animal Control's Friends

Hernando County Animal Control's Friends WE ARE NOT HERNANDO COUNTY EMPLOYEES! ANY dog or cat you save will give all the others more time If you aren't saying something productive, DO NOT SAY IT.

IF YOU PERSISTENTLY POST NEGATIVE COMMENTS ASKING WHY WE AREN'T DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THE ANIMALS IN NEED YOU WILL BE BANNED FROM THIS PAGE. We are all volunteers who work our tails off to get every animal out of this shelter. We also ALL have jobs to support our own families and rescue animals. Just because you do not see postings stating our every move does NOT mean we are letting things slip by.

Do not take it upon yourself to intervene... If we say we are sending someone for an eval, lining up a home, arranging transport, etc, WE WILL GET IT DONE. Having people ask us why we "aren't answering people's posts" or "ignoring interested people" does not make our lives and jobs any easier. WE ARE NOT EMPLOYEES OF HERNANDO COUNTY ANIMAL SERVICES. We are a small private rescue group who has set aside our initial priority for a much more pressing situation: SAVING THE INNOCENT LIVES THAT ARE THREATENED TO BE TAKEN EVERY DAY AT HERNANDO COUNTY ANIMAL SERVICES. Animal Services continuously receives friendly, adorable animals who need loving homes. The animals come from various sources such as strays picked up from the street, or animals from private homes where the owner can or will no longer care for them. Many of them have been neglected, abandoned, or abused, but they can and do rebound to become loving family pets.

The students in Ms. Connell's first-grade class at Explorer K-8 spent time drawing pictures and writing sweet notes about some of our adoptable dogs.

From Angelina wanting friends to play with, to Billy hoping for a family, to Jessica and Willie dreaming of a cozy bed and blankets, these kids captured exactly what shelter dogs are really hoping for…love, comfort, and a home of their own.

Thank you kiddos for taking the time to make these babies feel seen and loved. We absolutely treasure these drawings and kind words.

We will be posting more drawings during the week, so stay tuned šŸ‘€
