Today was the" Paws to Read Event " at the Fayette County Animal Shelter. This program was started by Shannon O'Hara a teacher at FES to help bring together young readers and the shelter animals. This program was created to bring a greater awareness in our community to the shelter and the problem in the overpopulation of pets because of not spaying and neutering. The success of this program is not only the children and the fur-babies but also the awesome volunteers that but their heart and soul into caring for the animals at the shelter. Please take a moment and look at the pics of the happy faces of the children and animals that were captured today.

Let's congratulate Fayette County Animal Shelter for their successful first public event " PAWS TO READ CLUB" which took place on Saturday, March 5th, 2016. This event was the vision of the shelter's Volunteer Coordinator Shannon O'Hara and brought together by the many special and wonderful shelter volunteers. The children who participated in the program were precious and the animals enjoyed their special visitors. The children not only got to read to their new friends but this event taught our future generations how to care and respect animals.
The Fayette County Animal Shelter has many fur babies that need to be adopted.....these precious animals need a good and loving home. Could you be their new family?
