On Thursday 7/10/25, Pepper got a hold of some jewelry in our home. She’s a curious girl who likes to chew on unfamiliar things to get a feel for new textures. At first, we didn’t notice any missing jewelry. But after a couple days of Pepper not eating, experiencing extreme nausea followed by frothy vomiting - we discovered the missing jewelry and further evidence of Pepper having eaten several pieces.

Tonight, we contacted an emergency vet who advised me to bring Pepper to be seen ASAP. At the hospital, she was immediately given tests and scans. Imaging revealed a handball sized ball of necklaces in her upper GI tract, and 7 earrings in her lower intestines. She’s uncomfortable and in trouble. She has a good prognosis if she can undergo 2 procedures to remove the necklaces, then additional treatment to try to move the earrings out of her system naturally.

We are doing everything in our power to provide the needed medical care to save her life. The cost of her surgery, hospital stay, and long term post-care are out of reach. Please consider donating to help get Pepper back on track.

Today our boy Malish has passed. He’s been with us ten years after we rescued him from euthanasia. Thanks to she helped us get him out of the shelter and he had another ten glorious years with us. He became our best friend. Our family member. He was such a smart and strong dog. He will always be in our hearts. You will be missed Malish. We love you! ❤️❤️❤️

Nasty, disrespectful and outrageous behavior towards my old sleeping dog. Also flashing or whatever he’s doing. Pi***ng on the floor. Disgusting people! We need to do better as a community and get these low lives outta here.
