The key to a good foundation is found in your seat. If the rider has the correct equitation line it promotes balance, effectiveness of aids and consistency. The line between shoulder, hip and heel matters whether over fences or on the flat. When we as riders are in line we are quieter and our seat reflects that. A quiet rider is a confident rider. Confidence is gained consistency.
Repeatedly ask yourself what can I do to make equitation a focus to building success under saddle? While we are not looking for perfection we are looking for clear communication with our horses. It starts with our seat and how we use it. If you are struggling to find your way let's work on it in your lesson this week! -Coach Shannon
