Saw this from another rescue. There is some hard truths we need to understand when we donate:

the ASPCA sends people into our community (and others) to raise money in the name of animal welfare, yet the donations collected here don’t stay local to support the organizations actually doing the work.
If these fundraisers are still outside the big Walmart in Russellville today, ask them one simple question: How much of the money raised here stays in our community? The answer is zero.
Meanwhile, the ASPCA’s CEO received approximately $1.23 million in total compensation in 2024.
If you want your donation to help animals right here in our community, please give directly to a local shelter or rescue. We’re the ones taking the calls, pulling the animals, paying the veterinary bills, and doing the hard work every single day.

I’m honestly heartbroken it has came to this, but I am in need of rehoming a dog of mine, I’ve tried everything I could to keep him but with me being a new mother I’ve hit a wall.. His name is Leonidas, but will respond to Leo as well, he is a pit mix breed, extremely smart and family friendly, he has been getting out of our fence repeatedly, and cannot be kept inside anymore and I don’t have the time unfortunately to be able to spend with him as he needs anymore, he is house trained, fixed, and knows a couple of commands, sit, stay, lay down, and release. He is 4 on February 28th. He is very good with kids although too excited and will lick too much, very cautious with new dogs.
