🚨 Doodle owners! 🚨

Sweet Dolly loves to swim, and her owners were doing everything they could at home by brushing her regularly!

Her outer coat looked great, but underneath, the hair close to her skin had become completely pelted/matted. This can happen especially with doodles who love to swim because moisture can cause the coat to tangle and mat underneath.

Unfortunately, the kindest option for Dolly was a short shave-down, but she is already feeling SO much better! 🥰

Regular brushing is important, but make sure you’re brushing all the way down to the skin. I recommend using a good slicker brush followed by a metal comb to make sure you’re actually getting through the entire coat.

I’ll share a little before & after, showing just how much matting was hiding underneath. This is NOT meant to shame anyone! Just an educational reminder because sometimes you genuinely can’t see what’s happening underneath!

Dolly’s owners gave me permission to share her story so hopefully it can help another doodle owner! Have a fun summer swimming, Dolly! 🐾

🐾 Boarding Update! 🐾

My in-home dog boarding is officially BOOKED for the rest of August and September 9th–20th! 🩷

I’m so incredibly thankful for every single family who trusts me with their pups. Having so many sweet faces coming in and out of my home is such a blessing, and I truly love what I do!

And a little reminder since I don’t advertise this side of my business nearly enough — I also offer dog sitting & doggy daycare! 🏡 Whether you need somewhere safe and loving for your pup to stay while you’re away, or just need someone to keep them for the day while you’re at work or busy, I’d love to help!

Meet Charlie! 🦁

The “hamster ball” in the before photo is a cat grooming muzzle. 😅 We started with it as a precaution… and Charlie quickly proved he didn’t need it! ❤️

This handsome 22 lb Maine C**n mix came in today for a lion cut after developing some matting. His owners told me that, at 7–8 years old, he’d only ever been groomed under sedation at the vet because they had always been told he was difficult.

Needless to say… I was NERVOUS. 😅

But Charlie completely surprised me. Although his face doesn’t show it in the pictures, he was an absolute sweetheart from start to finish—no scratching, no biting, not even a single hiss. He ended up being one of the best-behaved cats I’ve groomed!

His owners were the sweetest couple, too. They stayed with Charlie, helped hold and comfort him during his groom, and were so patient and kind. We had such a wonderful conversation, and it truly made my day.

Sometimes all it takes is a little patience, a calm environment, and teamwork. ❤️ Thank you for trusting me with your big, fluffy boy!

Some days I have to stop and remind myself that I get to do what I love. 🤍

Today I had the privilege of grooming two severely matted doodles for Tipton County Paws and Claws. Seeing dogs go from uncomfortable, tangled coats to feeling clean, comfortable, and able to move freely again is one of the most rewarding parts of this job.

Every transformation reminds me why I started grooming in the first place. I’m so thankful for opportunities to help dogs who need a fresh start. 🐾

And if you look at the last picture… I’d say that is his official review of the groom!

A fresh groom and a second chance! 🐾❤️

Today I had the privilege of grooming these three sweet pups from Nik’s Second Chance Canine Rescue . It was such a blessing to partner with an organization that works so hard to give dogs a safe place and a second chance at life.

These cutie puppies are now feeling fresh, clean, and ready to meet their forever families—and the best part is that they’re all available for adoption!🚨

🚨⚠️ Pet Safety Reminder: Foxtails 🌾🐶

Foxtail seeds can be dangerous for dogs this time of year. These sharp grass seeds can get stuck in paws, ears, noses, eyes, and skin — causing pain and infection fast. They will start by burrowing into the fur, then get into the skin!

After outdoor time, check your pup for:
🐾 Paw licking or limping
👂 Head shaking
🤧 Repeated sneezing
👁️ Eye irritation or redness

Checking and brushing your dog regularly can help prevent problems, especially for long-haired pups! Stay safe this season! 💛 Thankfully Roxie only had them in her fur today, so she’s all smiles today!
