Lots of activity at the farm today! Allen Benjamin Tree Service spent the day at the farm and took down some trees that were posing a risk. Crazy to see such massive pieces of tree being cut, carried, and set down - they did an amazing job!

While new riders often spend most of their early lessons on the lunge line, allowing them to focus on balance and position, it's fun to sometimes mix it up a bit!

Cisco was a gem for this young student as she navigated a mini obstacle course, working off lunge the entire lesson for the very first time.

Lots of brush clearing and property clean up this week. And of course, Nic and Todd being exceedingly helpful. I almost haphazardly moved the tractor without the compulsory number of forehead scritches. Whew, that was a close one, thanks for stepping in, Nic!

We hope everyone is doing okay out there with this smoke and poor air quality! Out of consideration for the safety of our horses and riders, we will be closed until conditions improve.
If it's this bad here, I can't imagine what it's like for those in Canada - the people, the wildlife, and the animals there. Hopefully there are some weather systems developing to bring lots of rain.

It's been a very full several days - but so much progress at the farm! Big thanks to Patti, who helped me clear more dead trees, overgrowth, and shrubs; Ella and Kendyl who cleaned and tidied the tack room and pulled weeds at the barn sitting area, as well as gave some exercise to the horses while I was on the tractor. We found a cool skull working in the woods! We also found this giant bug, which turned out to be a dobsonfly (they're crazy, if you want to look them up). We had some beautiful sunsets near the farm. And we got to see one of our friends from out of state who came up to ride. What a beautiful few days!
