Today is national I Love Horses day, and while I'm tempted to make a cheerful post, instead I'd like to take a moment to pause. Let's celebrate the memories of all the great ones we've loved along the way. Who was the first horse who captured your heart? What made him/her so special to you?

Finally getting a moment to sit down and reflect. It's been a whirlwind!

Last weekend, we welcomed Winning Ways with Western Dressage, Lynn Palm, Cyril Pittion-Rossillon, and Marie-Frances Davis to the farm for a dressage show (WDAA and AQHA) followed by a fix-a-test clinic, then a couple days with more intensive study. Riders from as far away as PA came to spend about 5 days at the farm - and I can see why - the quality of education and detail provided by both Lynn and Cyril was a unique, thoughtful, and applicable whether riding classical or western dressage.

One thing that especially touched me was their attention to the details, while remaining focused on the happiness and well-being of the horse. I loved seeing the progress made by the riders taking advantage of the multi-day clinic format. Lots of "ah ha!" moments!

A big thank you not only to Lynn, Cyril, and Marie-Frances, but also to the riders for joining us, and our volunteers and helpers for making the farm sparkle for the event. What a beautiful experience!

The temps and wind chill this week have meant that the horses are spending the majority of their time in the barn. This morning, we turned them out for an hour to stretch their legs while we cleaned the barn, and the sunrise was beautiful!
Big thank you to the friends, boarders, and students who have come to the farm to help this week - more hands pitching in made the work fly by! Thank you! ❤️

We're ready to share some very exciting news that's been in the works! World-renowned horsewoman Lynn Palm is coming to Oak Lane, her only Michigan dates in 2025. There will be a show, as well as clinic options available. We can't wait! Be sure to save the date!
