I had a second massage visit today with a mini schnauzer who’s been dealing with some lameness, and who also has some strong opinions about being handled by strangers. Last week, he spent some of our session letting me know exactly how he felt about it through several growls and warnings. Halfway through, he let out a big breath and softened into it.
But today he was a different dog!
His owner reported no signs of lameness this week and he was able to stop his anti-inflammatory meds! During today's session, he only growled once, settled much more easily, and even rolled onto his side, in a relaxed and trusting way. Seeing that kind of shift and improvement is so inspiring and feels really validating.

The rest of the day brought me to a number of other home visits, with some new faces and some familiar ones. In between, I stopped at a slate quarry, where I sat in the sun for a while, and watched six broad-winged hawks circle overhead while a beaver moved quietly through the water. I pulled over at another area later to photograph a couple of geese.

Every day that I do this work feels so special and fulfilling

Exploring the backroads of Maine is something I've always loved. Im so lucky that some days this job takes me down long dirt roads, past mountains, along the water, and into places I wouldn’t have found otherwise.

I get to meet animals who are deeply loved, and the people who care for them. Sometimes it’s a quiet home, sometimes it’s a full, busy farmhouse, sometimes it’s just a quick visit that still matters more than it seems. All of it is so meaningful. I feel really lucky to do this work.

I’m really excited to announce that I will be teaming up with Animal Orphanage (Old Town, Maine) for a great fundraiser!

For the month of May, I’ll be donating 20% of every service booked to support the Animal Orphanage’s Furball Festival (June 27th-28th in Old Town).

It’s a small way to give back to a place that does a lot of good for animals who are still waiting for their homes.

If your pet is due for a visit, this is a really meaningful time to book.

Appointments are limited, so don’t wait too long.

Call/text 207-659-3991
Or message me on Facebook for booking

And if you’ve ever adopted, volunteered, or supported Animal Orphanage, feel free to share or drop your story below! 💙

My afternoon opened up and I’ve got a couple spots available for nail trims & a**l glands. If you’ve been meaning to book, send me a message and I’ll fit you in today.

Our pets don’t need to be perfect, they just need patience and someone willing to meet them where they are.

That’s always my goal when I come into your home. Shy dogs, wiggly puppies, skeptical cats, the “don’t touch my feet” pets, they’re all just doing their thing, and I respect each of their individual personalities.

If you’ve been putting off booking because you’re not sure how your pet will do, they don’t have to be perfect. We’ll figure it out.

Share photos of your pets in the comments and tell me about their unique "quirks".

I'll share one of mine. This is our big lovable goober, Winston. He is has the kindest heart of any dog I've ever had. His unique quirk is when I open my arms to ask for a hug, he turns his body around, gets on his hind feet and does a trust fall onto me. This was not a trained behavior, it's all uniquely him.

Happy Sunday, everyone! I wanted to mention that I still have a couple open in-home appointment spots left this month.

If you're hearing toenails click-clacking on the floor, or if your dog is scooting across the carpet, it's probably time for a nail trim or a**l gland expression. Feel free to send me a message.

Appointments are done in your home with you present, which can be a lot easier for many pets!

Message me here
or call or text 207-659-3991 to make an appointment!

Also, I wanted to share one of my favorite photos of our girl, Aster. ❤️
