For all my horse and livestock people

If you are in a flood zone - please plan to evacuate your animals now

There are ear tags available online - Amazon arrival by Tuesday or TS Bradenton still has some in stock, believe Arcadia too, Sarasota is out

Livestock marking sticks - available at TS Sarasota (did not check others yet) and Amazon

I also advise fly mask as well - especially if animals are out side

The plastic orange chains can go around necks as well with ID tags, can be ziptied, and made to break easily if needed.

Nail polish on hooves with # and or address

Take updated images of your animals - especially after being tagged - make sure to get any special markings.

I am prepping my facility and our home the next few days - but will do my best to point anyone in the right direction.

Do not wait till last minute - rescuing large animals from flooding is not easy and it is a long road to recovery ❤️

Gypsy and Justice- Day 13 (as of 08/19/24)

Gypsy spiked a fever over the weekend of 103. We have it under control now but we are left wondering if it will happen again. The pictures of her leg are hard to see so I will post them in the comments.
We are doing what we can. The vet will come back to look at her later this week. Overall, she is in good spirits. She is still full weight bearing on the leg, & doesn’t offer to kick when we treat it. She is eating and drinking and acting like a horse should. Her eyes are still gentle and soft. She watches us and what we are doing a lot! She’s still very much attached to Justice but also doesn’t mind if we take her away for a few minutes. This is a waiting game and we are in a holding pattern. We do suspect the other leg will open in the next few days. Claudia has been doing magnawave and we are so thankful for her and the time that she has given to Gypsy to help her heal.

I am finding myself to be very impatient and wanting to sprinkle magical fairy dust on her legs that will make this all go away for her but we all know that can’t happen, so we wait and we keep going all at the same time.

Justice is still the best. He was cleared by the vet last week and he is just the sweetest guy. He gets his nebulizer treatment daily and he is breathing really good even through the heat. He is constantly keeping his eye on Gypsy. He must know that she needs him for companionship now more than ever.

Please keep sending all the healing over this way to Gypsy- we aren’t out of the woods. Not even close.

⭐️I do want to recognize that Justice is infact “out of the woods” as long as we can keep his breathing under control while he waits at the farm for Gypsy. We are overjoyed at his recovery & so proud of how he has remained to be the constant gentle level headed kind soul that he is. Although we are all left in an uneasy place with Gypsy right now, Justice should be celebrated!! I truly didn’t know if he would make it out of the flood alive due to his breathing complications.

Some of you have asked how the raffle did- & we will be giving updates on that tomorrow. We are blown away at the support and love that you have shown these horses. It’s unbelievable what has been done in 13 days. You’ve rallied around us, and showed up when we needed you and we are so incredibly thankful. The go fund me is still available if you want to help.

The road is long…but we are still moving.
