Our Hands Of Hope Animal Hospital team had a great time attending the Rise & Lead Conference hosted by the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce!

We were inspired and encouraged by the informative talks from Dr. Jeff Washington, Juanita McDowell and Stephanie Stuckey! We are excited to apply what we learned to become even more effective in our roles at Hands Of Hope Animal Hospital. Growth, leadership, and teamwork are all so important to the culture we strive to build each day for our team, clients, and patients.

A special thank you to Maggie Schuyler and the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce for organizing such a meaningful and impactful event for our community! We truly appreciate the investment in local leaders and businesses!

Please join us in welcoming our newest veterinarian Dr. Julia Smith!

Dr. Julia Smith is a 2023 graduate from Kansas State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She started her career working with horses, completing a specialty internship at Weatherford Equine Medical Center in Texas. She continued her career caring for horses in Middle Georgia to be closer to family. Dr. Smith elected to shift her focus to caring for dogs and cats, choosing to join the Hands of Hope family!

Dr. Smith is a certified Fear Free practitioner, and she enjoys integrating her knowledge of behavior into all of her visits. She has a passion for feline medicine and specifically loves caring for our feline family members! Dr. Smith also enjoys canine sports medicine, as well as providing comprehensive care for aging pets.

Dr. Smith and her fiancé Jake have a two year old Labrador Retriever named Juniper, and they fondly remember their beloved angel cat named Casey. In her free time, Dr. Smith enjoys training and going on adventures with Juniper, cooking, gardening, and golfing with her fiancé.

We are so excited to have such an awesome addition to our Hands of Hope family!

I don’t know about you, but this pup’s feeling 22.

Today we get to celebrate a true legend, Miss Lil Bit Cline, who’s marking her 22nd trip around the sun. Yes, you read that right! Lil Bit is 22 years old today! It’s wild to think we’re here in 2026 celebrating a pup who’s been lighting up the world since 2004!

Moments like today remind us how truly blessed we are to walk life’s journey with incredible animals and the families who cherish them. Milestones like a dog’s 22nd birthday are the kind of joy we never take for granted.

Happy Birthday Lil Bit! It is an honor to be a part of your story! We HOPE you have a fantastic day!

This Veterans Day, we’re proud to honor one of our very own, Katherine Dickerson. Katherine proudly served our country as a member of the United States Air Force before continuing to serve others as a certified veterinary technician.
We’re also incredibly thankful for the many members of our Hands of Hope team who have loved ones who served or are currently serving in our nations military. THANK YOU for your commitment to protecting our freedom!! Happy Veterans Day!
