🦷 70-80% of pets over the age of three have dental disease. Just because your pet is still eating (even kibble) does not mean they aren’t in pain with dental disease.

📏Our pets have an incredibly high pain tolerance and their appetite will be the very last thing to go when there is dental disease. Do NOT use that as the barometer of the severity of their dental issues.

🧊The tooth is like an iceberg and there is far more happening below the gum line than we can see above it.

🩸 Blood vessels and nerves run below the tooth and as dental disease worsens, the risk for serious infections and pain increases.

🩺 Have that checkup. Follow your veterinarian’s recommendations for a cleaning under anesthesia when your pet needs it.

🪥 Pro tip: establish a regular oral health routine and help increase the time between dental cleanings!

🙄 Seems like a no brainer to have them in your life in one way or another (or foster or dogsit)—for your health, for theirs, for a fulfilling life!

Bringing another sporting dog into the family wasn’t a decision that was made quickly or easily.

I knew there would be drama.

Maybe it’s because she is my first puppy in 20 years.

Maybe it’s her breed characteristics.

Maybe it’s just her personality.

But no matter what: the drama is so lovable.

Her zest for life is contagious and has certainly brought a spark back to Finn in his senior years!

🦴 They’re made of bone and collagen, but because of their unique structure, antlers can withstand forces 6️⃣ times greater than those which would shatter a femur!

🦷 I’ve seen so many cracked teeth due to chewing on antlers.

🩺 If you choose these for your dog, please have regular dental checkups, get pet insurance and be prepared to likely have an extraction or root canal in your pup’s future.
