Do you know what simply sucks the joy out of cooking? Having to dig through your cabinets for the spices that you need only to find out that half of them are expired duplicated or empty.

I’m a fan of spices in a drawer, but if you don’t have the space for that cabinet is my next go to.

Lazy Susan’s are a great way for you to get a 360 view of what you have. If I’m storing spices in a drawer, then I’m putting them in alphabetical order, but it’s a little harder to maintain in a cabinet.

I would group the spices that you use most often together and put them on the shelf closest to you. Stick things like bulk items high up.

We work in hundreds of homes so these organize tips are second nature to us, but might not be to you. I don’t make the rules but if I did, here are a few for you to follow:
You don’t get to keep everything if you want you space to stay tidy.

You MUST be willing to part with things- otherwise you are simply moving around clutter.

There will always be hacks and creative solutions for how to maximize the use of your space but the hard truth is the less you have, the easier it is to be (and stay) organized.

We love to see it!! You typically see corners with nothing in them. Just precious wasted space. We love how this kitchen added a special built in to make their space more functional. Would you like this in your kitchen?

There is so much noise on social media about what you should be buying, what works, what you need, what you don’t have. When we shop, we are constantly being yelled at by everything in the aisles. As a professional, here’s everything I saw at Costco that I would 100% pass on because YOU DON’T NEED IT. You don’t need a cereal dispenser on your kitchen counter. You don’t want to buy dishes that will be hard to replace if they chip. Don’t buy organizers that aren’t the same depth, width or height.

That corner cabinet is not a junk drawer for your kitchen. 🙅‍♀️

Your lazy susan has one job: storing the big, bulky things that don’t fit anywhere else. Stock pots. Dutch ovens. That stand mixer you use four times a year. The instant pot that lives rent-free on your counter. All of it belongs in there.

What doesn’t belong? Spices that get lost every spin. Tupperware that tips over the second the shelf moves. Canned goods you’ll forget exist for six months.

Swipe through for the full yes/no list, the three-question test I use before putting anything in a corner cabinet, and the two-zone trick that makes the whole thing actually functional.
