I should be dead now.
I'm celebrating my 75th birthday by commemorating the 10th anniversary of my 90-day stint in Intensive Care. While in a coma.
I had a complex surgery, and it didn't go well. At some point during the 3 months, the hospital contemplated performing Last Rites -- I was that close to death.
A decade later, I'm still kicking around, and it feels so good -- like getting an unexpected bonus.
