š New on Substack! Five music marketing strategies for independent musicians.
Iām a broken record for creative marketing strategies, and over the years, Iāve become attuned to what works for finding fans, but also, how to have FUN with it. Because thatās important, right? You want to actually enjoy this career youāre working so hard to build.
For this article, I thought about looking for different artists for each of the five strategies. Maybe I will next time. But in the end, I honestly felt like no one does it better or more consistently than Canadian favorites (and personal favorites, of course),
And I feel like that consistency is important when it comes to longevity in the music industry.
Another thing I appreciate? Their marketing manages to reach new audiences and make legacy fans feel specialĀ at the same time.Ā I always feel like Iām part of an inside joke when Arkells do something to subtly promote new music, but I also know theyāre reaching a ton of new fans at the same time. Not easy to do.
