We’re excited to offer Elsa from Cornell, a lovely 7-year-old, four-gaited Icelandic mare, 13.1 hh.
Elsa has been in consistent professional training with us for the past five months, after being thoughtfully started under saddle last year.
Elsa is a brave, forward-thinking, and sweet-natured mare with a strong work ethic and kind personality. She is light in the hands, responsive to the aids, and enjoys her time under saddle. She confidently performs basic lateral dressage exercises and is developing well across all gaits. She’s also been introduced to bridleless riding and shows a natural attentiveness and connection with her rider.
Out of the saddle, Elsa is easy to handle and well-mannered. She stands quietly for the farrier and vet, loads with ease, and trailers well. She lounges both on a line and in the round pen, and gets along peacefully in mixed herds of mares and geldings.
She’s safe around children and other animals, and confidently goes out on trail—both alone and in groups. She has also done a bit of light jumping, and with her stamina, forward movement, and surefootedness, she shows great promise for endurance or pleasure riding.
Elsa’s tölt is naturally expressive and smooth, though still developing in balance and strength. Her other gaits are clean, comfortable, and easy to ride, and she can pick up canter from a standstill.

Elsa is a sensitive, forward-thinking mare with a solid foundation and a bright future. While safe and willing, she is still gaining balance in her tölt and would do best with a novice to intermediate rider—someone confident and kind who can continue supporting her development.
Elsa is a truly lovely young mare with a lot to offer the right rider. She has the temperament, foundation, and potential to become a fantastic all-around partner for trail, dressage, pleasure, or sport.
