Charge: Being criminally overlooked

Status: Neutered male
Plea: NOT GUILTY — on grounds of being ridiculously adoptable. 😹

The prosecution alleges that The Defendant is guilty of loitering at the shelter without a family, stealing hearts, and possessing an unreasonable amount of black-cat charm.

His attorney would like the record to reflect that he has already served enough time.

Wendy, if asking questions, expecting transparency, and advocating for animals makes me “mean as hell,” I’m perfectly comfortable with that label.

Animal rescue isn’t a popularity contest, and accountability isn’t bullying. I don't have to be “kind and loving” toward questionable practices to care deeply about animals. In fact, sometimes caring about them means asking the uncomfortable questions others would rather avoid.

And if my “input” carries enough weight to supposedly impact an entire Amarillo rescue community, that's quite the compliment. I had no idea I was that powerful. 😂

The focus should always be the animals—not me, not personalities, and not who likes whom. Social media is so fun, ya'll.
