We are so excited to welcome Dr Shalimar Hulme to AHGS! Dr Shalimar grew up in MA and after 4 years at Kansas State University she has returned with her Veterinary degree and Equine Acupuncture Certification! Her professional interests include lameness, preventative medicine, and emergency medicine. When not working, Shalimar enjoys spending time with her three dogs (Katie, Tipsy, and Lacey) and her fiancée Jack.
Please give Dr Shalimar a warm welcome when you see her at your farm doing her rounds with Dr Lisa or Dr Amy!

First heat wave of 2025 is here and it's going to be HOT!
Keep your horses cool this week with a fresh clip, cold water baths and plenty of water and electrolytes. You can offer mineral salt blocks and an additional bucket of water mixed with something yummy like apple juice, a handful of sweet feed, Gatorade or electrolyte powder to help entice them to drink more.

There are new requirements for FEI Flu/Rhino vaccinations💉
We now have to enter horse health and vaccination information into the FEI app at the time of vaccination as well as in their passports. For more information on the FEI Horseapp check out this USEF reference

Congratulations to Dr Katie and her husband Matt on the birth of their first child McKayla! She joined the world earlier than expected and is growing healthy while at her stay in the NICU. She is just precious and we all can't wait to meet her!
Dr Katie will be out on maternity leave for the next few months to care for herself and family 💕
