I took a masterclass on canine sound phobias because I wanted to learn additional desensitizing techniques that might work for client dogs that are afraid of the grooming process. I also wanted to learn more solutions for Zombie's firework fear.

I ended up learning about the dog's fear cycle, brain chemicals, how similar their feelings and physiological processes are to humans, and steps to take to adjust their interpretation of what noises mean. These little guys are basically stuck in a panic attack and catapulted into survival mode.

Trigger noises:
Doorbells, vehicle traffic, airplanes, apartment noise, car horns, dogs barking, grooming equipment, vacuums, hair dryers, power washers, roofers, fire alarms, fire trucks/ambulances, kids playing, gun shots, sirens, yelling, hitting, and of course, fireworks.
