🐾❤️ SAVING ARABELLA❤️🐾

This old girl should never have been left to struggle alone.
Within the past week, Arabella appeared in town and somehow found her way to the Dollar General. Severely emaciated, frightened and weighing only three pounds, she was desperately searching for help. We may never know how long she had been surviving on her own—or how many people passed her before someone finally stopped.
But Arabella held on. She waited until help found her.
Her veterinary visit revealed that she is an older cat who has endured more than any animal should. At some point, she suffered a broken tail that was never treated. Her teeth are in terrible condition and will eventually require dental care. We are also monitoring her for possible incontinence, although we hope proper nutrition and increased muscle strength may bring improvement.
For now, Arabella is far too fragile for any unnecessary procedures. Her little body needs time to heal.
The wonderful news is that her SNAP test was negative—something that surprised both us and the veterinarian considering her condition. Beneath her fear and frail appearance is a sweet little soul who simply needs time to understand that she is finally safe.
For now, her treatment plan is simple:

❤️ Plenty of rest
❤️ Slow, healthy weight gain
❤️ Patience and gentle care
❤️ All the love she should have received from the beginning
Saving Arabella is about more than helping one old cat. It is about showing her that her age does not make her disposable, her medical needs do not make her a burden, and her life still has value.
Katie’s Heart could not turn away from Arabella—but we cannot continue saying “yes” to animals like her without the support of our community. Veterinary exams, testing, medication, specialized food and ongoing care add up quickly. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps us give another forgotten animal a chance.
