Somewhere between setup and teardown, this happens. ❤️

The lights come on.
The ponies start making their rounds.
Kids are picking their pony.
Parents are taking pictures.

And for a few hours, this little traveling pony world we hauled in on trailers becomes part of somebody’s memory.

We’ve brought Pony Go Round to fairs, festivals, community celebrations and special events all over Idaho, Montana and Eastern Washington.
And somehow, even after all these years, I still love seeing it lit up at the end of the day.

Meet Pippen. ❤️

Pippen is our 5-year-old, 12.1hh gelding who is one of the ponies we're spending more individual time with this year, and he's quietly building himself a pretty nice little résumé. Some of you may have hear me say he is 11.1 hands. Well guess what? He has grown since he arrived two years ago!

He has worked carousel events, participated in 4-H, been ridden and driven, and is continuing to gain experience along the way.

But probably the most important thing to know about Pippen isn't on his résumé.

He's a kind, slightly shy little guy who would really rather have his own person than work a crowd.
He'll do the busy stuff because we've asked him to. He's been there, seen it and done his job. But underneath it all, Pippen strikes me as the sort of pony who would be happiest belonging to someone.

One kid. One family. His people.
And sometimes I think those are the very best ponies. ❤️

Before Pony Go Round was a business, it was just our life. ❤️

My first three boys, piled onto my heart horse, Sexy Lexi — one apparently already requiring a Band-Aid on his forehead because... boys. 😂

Back then I wasn't thinking about businesses or events or social media. I was just raising babies, loving horses, and probably trying to keep everyone fed, reasonably clean, and out of the emergency room.

It's funny how you don't always recognize the beginning of something while you're living it.

Those little boys grew up.
The years flew by.
And somehow horses remained woven through all of it.

Long before we were putting children on ponies at events, I was putting my own babies on horses and making memories I didn't yet know I'd treasure this much.

Some things really do come full circle. ❤️🐴

Some birthday presents get forgotten. A pony showing up at your house isn't one of them. 🐴🎂

We've been making pony-sized memories for a whole lot of years, and watching a child's face when they realize the ponies are actually HERE never gets old.

Birthday parties, family celebrations, neighborhood gatherings and special occasions — sometimes you just need a pony. ❤️

We bring the ponies and take care of the horse part. You bring the kids.

Good ponies aren't born knowing their jobs. ❤️
There are a whole lot of miles, wet saddle pads, mistakes, repetition and patience between potential and a pony you can trust.

We love versatile ponies around here — the kind that can learn a job, take care of their rider, and still have enough personality to make you laugh.
This guy has been putting in the work. 🐴
