Thank you to everyone who shared our previous post! We have found someone to take over the rescue! She is a previous Foster and adopter. She has experience with disabled rabbits, has hand raised babies, and has a background and current employment in veterinary medicine! We are so relieved and at the same time a little sad to let it go. It is bittersweet but, more than anything, we are happy to have the rescue continue on and continue helping rabbits in Southwest Virginia!!

Please help!
We have posted about moving, asking for someone to take over the rescue (which we are aware that will take time), and help finding homes for the 5 rabbits we have left. We also simply asked that you share our posts to get the word out. There are 6 shares and only 120 views. Now for some tough love.
We started this rescue 3 years ago with $0. We started it with love and passion and drive. We started it with 1 rabbit. We continue to have a running balance in the bank of about $50. That is due to a monthly donation from 1 person. One..person.. my husband and I run this rescue and he is unemployed and I lost my job and work at the mall. That's the reality. Yet we have made it work, on our own, with help from friends. We have rehomed about 15 rabbits over the years. We do good work.
Yet we ask and beg for help to continue our good work, and the only posts that get shared are the ones I share from the internet; the cute bunnies, the sad bunnies in shelters, etc. We ask for serious help as in "hey! We are moving and need to find homes, this is not a drill" and the lack of response from the community is heartbreaking. We appreciate the praise when we save bunnies and have high profile rabbits like "Pistschio", but once those are over we seem to be out of sight, out of mind.
We. Are. Moving. And the rabbits need homes. We can take them if we have to but the rescue as an entity is not. That means if they come with us, now we own 5 rabbits as pets along with our cat, dog, horse, fish, and snake. And that is too much.

We will still be picky about who adopts so there is a still an application.

But please share. I'm serious. Share the hell out of this. Or I'll have to dissolve the rescue and it won't exist. Because there's not enough support being shown that this area even wants it here.

Tough love over, we really appreciate everyone who does help and does try.

In addition to us looking for someone to take over the rescue, we have many rabbits available for adoption. The more we can place into forever homes the easier the transition will be to new leadership. Please contact us if you are looking to adopt, either by message or phone. Thanks!

Please please share! We are moving sooner than we thought and we've only had 76 people see the original post!

Good morning everybunny!! We haven't posted on here pm for a while and we do apologize. But we have some exciting news! We will be moving to North Carolina to relocate for our careers. We will NOT be moving the rescue... this is a big deal. The rescue has helped so many rabbits in an area of high demand.
What we want is to hand over the rescue to someone here in the area to keep it going. We are not bringing it with us because we will be moving about 30 min from a chapter of the house Rabbit society which will mean we will most likely not have success in that area. We feel the rescue is more needed in the southwest Virginia area.
IF YOU HAVE SIGNIFICANT RABBIT EXPERIENCE AND WOULD LIKE TO DISCUSS TAKING OVER THE RESCUE PLEASE CALL OR MESSAGE ME!
This will involve taking all of the supplies, transferring bank accounts, taking on the remaining 6-7 rabbits, and being in charge of everything. I would like to still be on the board for consultation but I will be very hands off.

Prince Pistachio went to his new home today!!! He is already bonded to his new brother, which if anyone has tried to bond rabbits you know this is a miracle! We were sad to see him go because he was an awesome bun but ecstatic to have been a part of his recovery from his tortured past. 🐰💕

Great news! Parsnip and Cauliflower were adopted by their foster family! We haven't posted much about them because they had significant health issues and their foster fell in love with them pretty quickly. They nursed them back to "health" (considering they have renal insufficiency) and decided they couldn't let them go! Congrats girls! We will get updates pics of them soon. They were 2 our of the 6 rabbits that came from a cruelty case in North Carolina. With Strudel our to foster (and hopefully it goes well) we only have 2 of the 6 left to find homes for!

As some of you know, we lost our beloved mascot, Andre the Giant, to heart disease a few months ago. He came into the rescue and stole our hearts and it was impossible to part with him so we adopted him and he traveled with us to do events and teach kids how awesome rabbits are. Since we lost him, we haven't done many events but with the busy spring season we found ourselves wondering who to take with us to the events we would be doing.
Lilly and Penny have been with us for roughly 2 years. We have had 0 adoption inquiries for them. It is hard to adopt out a pair. We took them to a couple of events recently and they did very well. We have decided to keep Lilly and Penny as our new mascots. They are young and find comfort in each other when traveling. And they've tolerated children extremely well! Andre will always have a special place in our hearts and we still grieve over him. These girls can never take his place but the rescue needs a new mascot/event bunny.
We just wanted to make it official and announce our new Field of Daisies mascots. :)

*Courtesy post- this rabbit is not in our rescue*

This little baby bun has had a rough start. He was bought at a pet store that is known for breeding rabbits as feeder pets. By no fault of his new owner, the baby rabbit has been having medical issues. He was having seizures due to improper nutrition and has a calcium deposit on the cornea of one of his eyes. He has been evaluated and treated by an exotics veterinarian who has cleared him as healthy now. The spot on his cornea will always be there but he has full vision in the eye. The new owner would like to find the bunny a home who has rabbit experience. He is a little overwhelmed but I want to be clear, please do not blame the owner. I believe the fault is on the pet store and the improper care and education from the beginning.
Please message us if you are interested in this 6 month old mini rex and we will put you in contact with the owner.

*THUMP* *THUMP* A welcome is in order!
Please welcome Roxie to the rescue world! She was caught as a stray by one of our friends and previous adopters. She had been sighted for 3 weeks on the loose but leave it to the crazy bunny lady (and I mean that in a good way) to wrangle a group of people and catch the rabbit with no injuries!! She is a dutch mix with stunning markings and one brown eye, and one blue eye. She has a very quiet disposition and doesn't mind being handled. She was spayed today and did well. She does, however, have a previously torn v***a which has healed well on its own. This will leave her predisposed to urinary tract infections so the new owner should be vigilant about watching for changes in urine color, amount, odor, etc.
