WOW! In just two years we’ve hit a milestone with 500 Likes on Facebook! THANK YOU! Heart of the South is about Y’ALL .... celebrating Leather and Kink in the Deep South of Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. We will continue to grow and already have some exciting plans for our third year in February 2020, so be on the lookout for exciting announcements. And please continue to follow our 2019 Heart of the South Puppy, Pup Fox, and his exploits. There’s lots more to come from this Pup!

When one of our family is attacked, do we stand by and quietly condone it with our silence, or do we stand up and speak out? The comments from Craig MrCode towards newly named IML Jack Thompson, are not merely disrespectful, but are disgusting in the strongest terms. Made worse is that Craig MrCode is President of SECC, a group that represents a large number of individuals involved in a wide range of Clubs in the Southeast. In its Statement of Purpose, SECC claims to “promote brotherhood, sisterhood, and camaraderie”. Craig MrCode’s comments clearly are at odds with this Statement of Purpose. As a Southeastern event, Heart of the South stands firmly in support of Jack Thompson, and calls for the immediate removal of Craig MrCode.

Our trans brothers and sisters, along with our fellow POC Community members, have been marginalized for too long. These offensive comments are NOT representative of the Southeastern Community. To our transgendered brothers and sisters and to our fellow POC Community, you are an important part of our larger Community. You need to not just feel safe, but to actually be safe within our ranks. It is the hope of Heart of the South that whatever hurt has occurred due to this person’s comments, that we can recover from this and continue to improve who we are and how we treat each other.

Making an event successful is simple....it’s made that way by the people that are a part of it! Heart of the South Weekend 2019 was definitely a HUGE success. As Producer, I am incredibly grateful to a number of groups, businesses, and people; all of whom came together to show what a Community can accomplish together! My list of “thanks” is in no particular order:

But most importantly, the biggest thanks go to all of YOU! Without your attendance and support, Heart of the South Weekend wouldn’t be growing the way it has in only two years. HOTS Weekend is about building our Community. I had a number of individuals comment that they don’t have that sense of ‘belonging’ in some of the places they live in the Southeast. Our goal is to be a way for them
and others to come together and not feel left out simply because of geography. I hope you will continue to help us grow.

We have an energetic 2019 Heart of the South Puppy in Pup Fox! Several events are in the works and I invite you to keep an eye out for what he is up to on his page. IPHAW Weekend and the IPTC Contest will be coming quickly in July in Indianapolis...so please continue to support our Pup as he prepares to wag his tail and represent the Southeast! This IPHAW/IPTC will also, sadly, include the step-aside of our 2018 Heart of the South Pup and 2018 IPTC International Pup, Pup Kase.....so yes, July will be a special month for both HOTS Pups.

Although the 2019 Heart of the South Weekend is over, HOTS is always looking to bring us all together. Thank you again for an amazing weekend!

To all of our Pup contestants, Judges, Emcees, and audience...Thank you for an amazing night! Get ready as a new HOTS Puppy begins his journey, sharing his story, and helping to further represent what it means to be a Pup to the Region and beyond. This Doberman is definitely ready to strut his stuff!

Tomorrow night, Friday, February 22, find your internal flaming passion and join SIR Eli ONYX for some FIRE PLAY.

Starting at 11:30pm, MANIFEST4U will be hosting one of the Mid-Atlantic’s foremost Kinksters, as he shares one of his passions, the art of Fire. Let your senses come alive in this play which has its roots in Eastern holistic healing and celebrating one of the primal elements of Nature.
