Have you ever wanted to know more about a guardian home for our breeding program? It’s where we partner together with another family to give a mother dog a forever home! All the way through the puppy stage to end of life. They never have to be moved or sold to another family and they come to us for all the puppy needs. We are soon to be looking for a local family to place a miniature female from our program and hope to find a good fit for you and Red Door. Msg us for details. This mama is an example.

Let's talk about Guardian Homes:

The guardian program allows us to grow our program and continue to better our breed, without sacrificing any of our dogs happiness and need for love and attention. While we want to keep all of our dogs with us, we understand that they will be happier with more one on one attention than we can give them, should we have 5+ dogs living in our home, plus litters of puppies. I do not agree with dogs living permanently in a commercial kennel style set up, so this allows all of our dogs to have their own place on the couch and get the one on one attention they deserve.

As a guardian home, you are the permanent home for one of our breeding dogs while they are in our program. Once they are retired, full ownership transfers to the guardian family and they get to keep the dog forever. Of course, if there is ever a point in the dog/puppies life the guardian cannot keep them, they come back to us.

DOES IT COST TO BECOME A GUARDIAN AND WHAT COSTS ARE INVOLVED:
-You will receive a high quality dog that has been hand selected by us to remain in our program at no cost! ($500 deposit returned when they are completed breeding.)
-We are responsible for ALL breeding related costs. The guardian home is only responsible for everyday needs, such as food and treats.
-Guardian dogs receive free boarding when needed if we are home and available.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE REQUIREMENTS TO BECOME A GUARDIAN HOME?
-Be willing to teach basic commands such as sit, stay, lay-down, and leave it as well as how to walk politely on a leash.
-Keep the dog as an indoor/outdoor family pet, while providing adequate exercise and mental stimulation
-Be able to bring the dog to and from the breeder within a few days notice for breeding and training.
-Must be able to communicate, cooperate, and coordinate with the breeder effectively.
-Contact the breeder in the event of any serious illness or accident.
-No other intact dogs of the opposite gender in the home.
-Live within driving distance of Bettendorf, IA.

BENEFITS TO BEING A GUARDIAN HOME
-You are getting a top quality dog
-The dog will be health tested at the breeder’s expense
-Free boarding
-Families do not need to do any of the puppy whelping or raising. Male will just need to visit for approximately 1 week each breeding, females will whelp and stay with us until puppies are weaned, typically 8-9 weeks.
-Once retired, full rights and ownership are transferred to you
-The guardian receives a $500 return deposit to help cover the pet costs.
-Titling reimbursement and incentives.
-Knowing your canine companion is blessing families all over the country.

We consider all of our puppy/dog owners family, but when you become a guardian you are truly part of our team
