A great event for a great cause!

💙 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED 💙

We are just 2 MONTHS AWAY from our fourth annual Bark in the Park: In Memory of Tyler! We're currently looking for volunteers to help us run the event. This is a great opportunity for teens to earn community service hours or for animal lovers to come together and support our rescue! 🐾

Bark in the Park will take place on Saturday, September 20th from 11am-4pm at Bennett Memorial Park (14 Shelter Rock Rd. in Bethel, CT). You can volunteer for as little or as long as you'd like. Smithland is slated to close their doors this Saturday. Pet food and supplies are heavily discounted, so when you stop in to pick up something for your furry friend, please consider donating food or supplies for our shelter animals. We would love to have more dry and canned food, leashes, collars, etc. to have in stock.

Donations can be dropped off any time at the Bethel Police Deptartment lobby, 12 Judd Ave or at the Animal Shelter if the ACO is at the shelter.

🎉Jack has been reunited🎉

After a very scary day- Jack decided to return on his own. Thank you to CTDGRV Deb, Leslie, Jill and Melissa for all your help and guidance. Jill sprung right into action and set up a trap, but Jack decided to walk into the house instead! Welcome home sweet boy!

Missing in Bethel. This young black lab got loose today in the Cross Hill Rd/Codfish Hill Rd ext area. Please be on the lookout for him and immediately call the # on the flyer with any sightings. Do not post them on here. Let’s get this little guy home and out of the heat!

Heat is coming! With humidity, the heat index is even higher. Make sure your pets have plenty of water and that they spend outdoor time in the shade when possible!

Frozen Watermelon Mint Popsicles for Dogs

Ingredients

* 2 cups seedless watermelon (cubed)
* 1 tablespoon fresh mint leaves (finely chopped)
* 1/4 cup water

Supplements

* Optional: 1/4 teaspoon dog-safe electrolyte powder for hydration

Instructions

1. Add watermelon cubes and water to a blender and blend until smooth.
2. Stir in finely chopped mint and electrolyte powder if using.
3. Pour into silicone molds or ice cube trays.
4. Freeze for at least 4 hours until firm.
5. Serve one refreshing cube at a time to help your dog cool off.

Storage
Store in a sealed container or freezer-safe bag for up to 1 month.
