How to Eliminate Puppy Urine Smell
Step 1: Absorb Dog Urine
Step 2: Extract Remaining Urine
If you own a shop-vac, use it to suck up as much of the urine as possible.
Step 3: Apply an Enzyme-Based Product
Enzyme-based cleaning products are engineered to attack the uric acid crystals in urine that stain your floors and smell up your home. They are designed to both clean the spot of the accident and to eliminate the bacteria and odors deposited there.
Step 4: Apply a Light coat of Baking Soda or a Light Fragrance.
Step 5: Reward Your Puppy’s Next Outdoor Potty Trip. Train them for excellence.

What Not to Use:
Bleach or Ammonia - the fumes are harmful to your puppy.

Not only do I clean yards of 🐶 pet waste (scoop p**p) 💩 but I also take care of your pets 🐕 when you are gone. I’m currently staying with this sweet girl this week at her house 🏠. She loves b***y scratches and playing with her squeaky hippo 🦛!
If you need help with your pup, don’t call the boarding house 😷, I will come to your house (house checks or stay with them overnight) or if they like other dogs/people, then they can come to my house while you are gone.

Top 5 Benefits of Positive Behavior Reinforcement

Science Backs It
Scientific studies support the use of positive behavior reinforcement. Perhaps the best advantage of positive behavior reinforcement over other behavior shaping strategies is the many scientific studies that support the use of positive reinforcement. The field of animal behavior is constantly evolving, and research is increasingly supporting the effectiveness of positive reinforcement in shaping the behavior of dogs.

It Helps Build Confidence
Reinforcement of positive behaviors builds your dog’s confidence. Pups that are repeatedly punished for misbehaving can develop poor confidence and begin to suffer the effects of a broken spirit.
This is especially true if punishment repeatedly occurs without any rewarding from the dog’s family. Positive behavior reinforcement gives your dog’s confidence a boost by making them feel good about learning new behaviors. The result is a happier, more spirited animal that approaches learning with eagerness as opposed to fear.

The Whole Family Can Participate
The simplicity of positive behavior reinforcement enables your whole family to take part in rewarding your dog’s good behavior. Even children can learn how to spot desirable behaviors and reward your dog with praise or treats. In fact, children can learn a lot about the importance of displaying good behaviors when they participate in positive behavior reinforcement strategies.

It Combats Canine Fear
Positive behavior reinforcement helps prevent “freezing up” due to fear. Training methods that involve the use of punishment or negative reinforcement can cause your dog to freeze due to fear of engaging in a behavior that may be punished.
This can ultimately delay development and learning of positive behaviors. Because positive behavior reinforcement strategies only focus on rewarding your dog for exhibiting good behavior, the tendency to experience freezing or stage fright goes away.

Your Dog Will Start to Enjoy Training
Your dog will look forward to training sessions. They will also look forward to learning new commands and behaviors when positive behavior reinforcement is used in training. Whether the positive reinforcement arrives in the form of a treat, a click, and/or verbal praise, your dog will happily approach the learning process without fear.

Have you ever wondered why your dog licks and swallows? There are numerous reasons, many of which indicate a serious health problem.

Some dogs tend to lick their lips more than others and most pet owners worry when the licking becomes excessive or is a new behavior. Dog licking and swallowing can be a symptom of a medical problem, behavioral problem, or a normal communication tool.

Behavioral Causes
* Communication behavior
* Dogs may lick their lips when confused or frustrated.

Environmental response.
* Some dogs will lick their lips when they feel dry, a bug hits their face, or something is stuck near their lip, like a piece of food or a blade of grass.

Medical Causes
* Foreign body.
* An item stuck in a dog’s mouth that causes pain and discomfort will lead to lip licking and swallowing.

Dental disease. 🦷
* As dental disease advances, plaque turns into tartar. The build-up of tartar both above and below the gum line can gradually produce an environment for bacteria to grow that is destructive to the periodontal tissues.

Nausea. 🤢
* One of the most common signs of lip licking and swallowing is nausea.

Oral ulcers.
* Oral ulcerations cause pain, lip licking, drooling, and/or excessive swallowing. Ulcers can develop from oral infections, dental disease, systemic infections (like kidney disease), or from ingestion of caustic substances.

Unpleasant tastes and toxins. 👅
* Dogs that lick something different or unpleasant can develop a funny taste in their mouths. This can be brought on by licking or eating new foods, table scraps, or plant material.

Bites. 🐝
* Any type of bite to the face or around the lips can cause lip licking and swallowing.
* Bites can come from insects (spiders, horse flies, mosquitoes) or a bee/wasp sting.

If you are concerned, schedule a vet visit.

It’s important to practice regular dental care at home for your pet to prevent Dental Disease. Brushing daily is the best way to help prevent Dental Disease. Most dogs can be trained to tolerate tooth brushing.

If your pet won’t allow you to brush their teeth, there are alternatives:

~Dental wipes – Can be used as an alternative to a toothbrush for pets that won’t tolerate a brush.
~Dental treats & chews – Can help remove plaque and may contain enzymatic ingredients that help slow the buildup of plaque accumulation.
~Dry dental diets – May slow – but will not prevent – the development of periodontal disease.
~Oral rinses and water additives – Can reduce the adherence of plaque on teeth – but won’t remove the plaque that is already present.
