Berkeley Animal Care Services The Berkeley Animal Care Services shelter is responsible for the community's animals in need. We are the volunteers of Berkeley Animal Care Services.

If you are interested in adopting one of the animals featured on this page, please visit or call BACS directly. As we are only volunteers and not employees of the shelter, we may not have the most current information available, although we do try and keep this page as updated as possible. Information regarding adoption fees, criteria and special programs is provided as a courtesy for prospective a

dopters. It is set by the City of Berkeley and Berkeley Animal Care Services, not the volunteers who maintain this page.

Adoption Fees:
Dogs $125.00 / Cats $100 -- include shots, microchip, spay or neuter
Rabbits, BIrds, Exotics: $25
Rodents: $10

60/6/60 Adoption Program, Partnering Senior Animals with Senior Friends -- If you are 60 or older and adopt an animal who is 6 or older, you'll get 60% off the adoption fee! Adoption Criteria:
In order to qualify as an adopter, you must bring proof of home ownership or your rental contract showing you are allowed to have pets before the adoption can be completed. If you're coming to adopt a new family or household pet, please bring your family members or other members of the household with you to the shelter -- including any other dogs in the family. We want to make sure your new dog is a good fit for both 2-leggers and 4-leggers alike.
