$5 Friday‼️ This Sunday, 8 dogs will arrive in Bend after being rescued from a very sad situation in Tijuana, Mexico.

A local rescuer named Armado spent years doing everything he could to care for homeless dogs in his community. But when he became seriously ill, he couldn’t keep up anymore. Even while he was sick, people continued leaving more and more unwanted dogs at his property, hoping he could help. His heart was big enough for all of them, but the situation became impossible.

Because many of the dogs weren’t spayed or neutered, the population kept growing.

Thankfully, stepped in with funding to spay/neuter the dogs and provide medical care, while
_Fenix worked to find rescue partners to give them a fresh start.

That’s where Street Dog Hero comes in.

These 8 pups are finally on their way to Oregon, where they’ll have the chance to find the loving homes they deserve. But before that can happen, they need veterinary care, food, and everything that comes with starting over.

If you’re able to give this $5 Friday, we’d be so grateful. Even $5 helps give these dogs the second chance they never thought they’d have.

36 adoptions so far this month!!🥳 THANK YOU to our community for choosing to adopt and for giving these rescue pups a second chance at finding loving homes.

Just weeks ago, many of these pups were living on the streets or sitting in overcrowded shelters with no idea what their future would look like. Now they’re going on hikes, laying in the sun and soaking up all the love from their new families.

To everyone who adopted, fostered, volunteered, donated, or shared our posts - THANK YOU. Every single one of you helped make these happy endings possible.

And to our fosters and volunteers…you are the reason we can keep saying “yes” to dogs who need us most. We couldn’t do this without you.

Thank you for always showing up for the underdogs 🧡

Have you been thinking about adding a new best friend to your family? One of these cuties might be your perfect match 🥰

This weekend, 18 dogs and kittens arrived in Oregon from an overcrowded shelter in Oklahoma and they’re already stealing hearts. Thanks to our rescue partners at Dog Is My Copilot and Norman Animal Welfare, these animals now have a second chance and are looking for families of their own here in the Pacific Northwest.

Not ready to adopt? We’re looking for FOSTERS! Every dog pictured would love a safe place to decompress after their long journey and experience life in a home while they wait for their forever family. To foster, email [email protected].

Can’t commit to fostering? We need VOLUNTEER DOG WALKERS who can give them the best part of their day - exploring new smells and getting some one-on-one time! Dog walking shifts are available seven days a week, morning and evening. Sign up at streetdoghero.org

Tilly’s journey - rescue from Puerto Vallarta in 2018 🧡 If you met Tilly today, you’d probably notice her sweet personality long before you noticed the little muscle twitches she still has from surviving distemper.

But those twitches tell a story.

Back in 2018, Tilly was found on the streets of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. She was extremely skinny, covered in severe mange, and somehow had survived distemper - a disease that kills many of the dogs who get it.

But Tilly never gave up.

In 2019, John and Helen adopted her, and she’s been living her best life ever since. These days, she spends her time roaming around their 5 acre farm, going on daily walks, and enjoying all the things every dog deserves: safety, comfort, and love.

What makes Tilly even more special is that her story has gone on to inspire others. She’s visited schools across Central Oregon, helping teach kids about the realities street dogs face and why every single dog deserves a chance.

Tilly is proof that rescue dogs are so much more than their past. The dog who was once sick, scared, and struggling to survive has spent the last seven years changing lives.

Every dog really is worth saving.

$5 Friday‼️ In just 24 hours, 18 dogs and cats will be landing in Bend on a rescue flight from Oklahoma.

Why Oklahoma? Because shelters there are in crisis. Our rescue partners receive an average of 40 animals every single day, and many of those pets will never make it out without help.

Here in Oregon, we’re incredibly fortunate. Adoption rates are much higher, which means these animals have a real chance at finding the loving homes they deserve. For many of them, this flight is their only chance.

But getting them here is only the first step.

We REALLY need foster homes so these dogs and kittens can decompress in a home instead of spending their days in kennels and crates at our facility.

Email [email protected] to foster.

They arrive Saturday, June 20 at 3:15 PM at the Bend Airport, and foster families are welcome to pick up their new foster pet right at the airport.

If you’d like to help cover the cost of their care, please consider donating:

Calm & easy-going ✔️
Snuggle queen 👸 ✔️
Pro leash walker ✔️
Loyal best friend ✔️

Wera is one of those easy dogs who just fits perfectly into your life. At 45 pounds and 5 years old, she’s the perfect size and has the most chill energy. She doesn’t pull one bit on a leash, loves car rides, and does great out in public. She’s calm, affectionate, and happiest when she’s hanging out with her people.

We don’t know much about Wera’s past, other than that she was found on the streets of Mexico City. She arrived in Oregon two weeks ago and has been patiently waiting for someone to notice her.

While she’s been an amazing office dog, what she really needs is a home, a couch to curl up on, and a family to call her own.

If you can foster Wera, please email [email protected].

And if you’re looking for a loyal best friend who will happily join you in whatever it is you’re doing, head to StreetDogHero.org and apply to adopt.

$0 ADOPTION FEE✨ When Fergie was hit by a car in Mexico, she was left behind to suffer alone on the streets.

Thankfully, our rescue partner found her and got her the help she desperately needed. While her injuries healed, they left her with some urinary incontinence, meaning she wears diapers indoors. But she doesn’t let that slow her down one bit!

Fergie still loves her daily walks, lounging in the sunshine, and soaking up every bit of attention she can get. She’s happiest when she’s with her people, rolling over for belly rubs and reminding everyone that special needs dogs are just dogs who need a little extra support.

Her foster mom says caring for Fergie is way easier than most people imagine. She has no problem wearing her diaper, loves her routine, and spends her days being the sweet, happy companion she’s always been.

At just 2 years old and 17 pounds, Fergie has already overcome more than most dogs ever should. Now, all she needs is a family willing to look past her diaper and see the incredible dog she is.

Fergie is currently being fostered in Portland, Oregon 📍

Ready to give her the forever home she deserves? Apply to adopt at StreetDogHero.org.

A BIG thank you to for covering Fergie’s adoption fee and thank you to for capturing these beautiful photos of our sweet girl. 🥹
