The 6PM showing is SOLD OUT! 🚨

But good news - there are still a few seats left for the 8PM showing of A Busy Week by tomorrow, June 4, at in Bend, Oregon.

This powerful film takes you behind the scenes of our work in Mexico during a large-scale spay/neuter clinic and give you a behind the scenes look at what rescue work really looks like.

Rescue isn’t always puppies and happy endings. It’s long days, difficult decisions, heartbreaking realities, and seeing the impact of dog overpopulation firsthand. It’s the stories that don’t always make it to social media - and the reason we’re so committed to creating lasting change through spay/neuter programs.

If you’ve ever wondered what happens behind the scenes, this is your chance to see it for yourself.

🎟 Grab your tickets for the 8PM showing through the link in our bio.

We’ll also be hosting a live Q&A after the film, so bring your questions and join the conversation.

We can’t wait to see you there. 🧡

😛 Meet Trixie: 25 pounds of confidence packed into a lowrider body.

This little lady was rescued from Tijuana, Mexico along with 9 other dogs after their owner passed away and there was no one left to care for them. Now she’s safely in Oregon and waiting for someone to realize she’s basically a big dog that accidentally got shrunk in the wash.

At 6 years old, Trixie has mastered the art of adventure. She has gone for several Hero for a Day shifts with our volunteers and has proven to be an A+ companion on hikes and even trail runs. She may be short, but her personality is operating at Golden Retriever levels.

If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick who can keep up with your adventures and make you laugh along the way, Trixie is ready to meet you!

Apply to adopt Trixie today at StreetDogHero.org.

Or to foster, please email [email protected]

Gus and Arrow’s journey 🧡 Gus and Arrow may have come from completely different backgrounds, but somehow they ended up exactly where they were meant to be - together.

Gus was rescued from Hawaii after being found abandoned, and Arrow came to us as part of a litter from La Pine, Oregon when their owner could no longer care for the puppies.

Their family adopted them both at the same time, and honestly, it seems like they were always supposed to be brothers. From adventures to naps on the couch, these two have been inseparable ever since.

Their mom, Caitlin, recently sent us an update, and we couldn’t wait to share it:

“Both Gus and Arrow are doing AMAZING and have fully integrated into our family. They spend basically all day playing together along with our 6 year old Great Pyrenees, Hattie, who likes to join and also keep them in line. They’re both so fun to train and have learned ‘sit’, ‘drop’, ‘leave it’, and ‘place’ in a very short amount of time.

Gus is hilarious because he is SO fast and high energy when outside (we learned he’s part whippet!), and such a cuddly snuggler as soon as he’s inside. He also loves to ‘scream’ excitedly and do what we call ‘chompers’ on anyone close to him when he’s excited. Arrow is the sweetest boy I’ve ever met and is so eager to please. When we wake up and greet him in the morning, he endlessly wiggles and curls up his lips in a smile. He LOVES learning new commands and does them so excitedly every time.

We’re so happy we made the somewhat crazy choice to get both of them at the same time and can’t imagine it any other way now.” - Gus and Arrow’s mom, Caitlin.

$5 FRIDAY‼️🇲🇽 30 dogs are arriving next week from Mexico on a rescue transport, and now we’re racing to get ready for them.

Their stories are all different, but they have one thing in common: they had nowhere else to go.

Some were abandoned. Some were neglected. Some were rescued from dangerous situations. A few we met ourselves while working in Kanasín this spring. Others we’ve never met - we only heard their stories and knew we couldn’t say no.

Meet a few of the dogs making the journey:

🐾 Cooper had a family, but spent most of his life outside. When he got bigger and became inconvenient, they planned to euthanize him. Thankfully, rescuers stepped in before that could happen. Despite everything, Cooper is a happy, social boy who just wants to be loved.

🐾 Kutzi came into rescue after her mother fractured her leg as a puppy. Today, she’s a playful, affectionate girl who loves dogs, cats, and kids.

🐾 Paloma was found pregnant at a gas station. Tragically, her puppies didn’t survive, but Paloma never lost her gentle, loving spirit. She’s calm, sweet, and ready for a fresh start.

🐾 Canela was punished for normal puppy behavior and learned early on that people weren’t always kind. She’s shy and unsure at first, but beneath that fear is a sweet dog who deserves patience, safety, and love.

And these are just 4 of the 30 dogs arriving next week.

We’re scrambling to make room, gather supplies, and find foster homes so every one of them has a safe place to land when they arrive.

PORTLAND FOSTERS NEEDED‼️ We have 8 rescue dogs arriving from Lake Chapala, Mexico on Monday (6/1), and we still need foster homes for 5 of them!

If you can help, please email [email protected]. Even if you can only foster for a week or two, it gives these dogs a safe place to land while they wait for their forever homes.

Meet some of the pups looking for fosters:

✨Xander (4 years old) – Boxer mix
A happy, friendly guy who loves people and gets along great with other dogs. Xander is always smiling and ready to play.

✨Bailey (6 months old) – Mixed breed
A sweet, slightly shy puppy who loves other dogs, cats, and curling up next to his humans.

✨Bella (2 years old) – Mixed breed
Bella is the total package. Great on leash, wonderful with other dogs, and full of personality.

✨Matcha (2 years old) – Mixed breed
Calm, affectionate, and happiest when she’s spending time with her people. She loves attention and is a dream on walks.

✨Toluz (4 years old) – Lab mix
Friendly, easygoing, house-trained, and always up for a game of fetch. She already has great manners and is ready to settle right into a home.

Fostering truly saves lives. If you’ve ever thought about opening your home to a rescue dog, now is the perfect time!
