We have completed our first night of our Night Seminar. We have completed about ten miles of our excursion through Bellingham. Hopefully, everyone is getting a little sleep to continue this evening!
This is a fun adventure, but like everything we do there is a why to it!
If you are training for SAR you must get out there- try and train for many different types of trails. Will your dog leap up and trail at 2 am? We assume they will, but have you tried it? Safety concerns? Lighting? How do you as handler deal with lack of sleep?
Our teams must be versatile, we must know our limits. Always train with the “why” the purpose! And, enjoy the adventure as you figure it all out! Happy Trails!

Last weekend was our last Wild training. These dogs did it all! Wide open spaces, trails, and of course the bush whack. I saw handlers responding and trusting. Moving quickly and having patience. I saw confidence grow in dogs, handlers, and teams! I enjoyed working with these teams and loved how they supported and worked together! Always an Adventure!
Looking forward to this course in 2026!! Next year Wild will run August thru November!

We said good bye to our sweet crazy Alice last week. Alice truly gave me the love for the trail and the inspiration to begin K9 Track NW. Not because everything always went smooth, because the rollercoaster ride is truly worth building the team. She is truly missed, our house is not quite the same. Never enough time.

Why me as your trainer?

I tell everyone to interview trainers before you pick one. Whether it be obedience, or a specialty training before you pay the money, you want to make sure you feel good about your trainer. You could be working with this person minimum a few months, you are putting your puppy’s paws in their hands and your money- important reasons to check out your options before you sign up!

Here are some reasons you may want to pick me as your trainer.

My experience training dogs. In the last 13 years, I have worked with over 1000 canine. I have trained many breeds- Labs, Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, Malinois, Beagles, Springers, Dutch Shepherds, Poodles, Pointers, Rottweilers, just to name a few. For eleven years I worked as a detection dog trainer. I started training the green dogs, preparing them for their work to come. I imprinted dogs on odor, and finished up their training for success in the field.

My experience training the handlers. After the dogs were trained, I then taught handler classes to law enforcement, training the handler how to work with their new canine. I taught three trainer courses teaching Law enforcement how to train their own detection dogs. I have taught obedience and tracking classes. Congrats to two of my tracking teams that certified with SAR this year!
