My very pretty little female Malaysian mangrove snake (Boiga Melanota), a very fascinating rear fanged colubrid that gets about 6-8ft in length. The Malaysian mangrove snake, also known as the gold-ringed cat snake, is a really striking creature! You'll usually find them in mangrove forests and coastal areas across Southeast Asia. They're pretty easy to spot with their glossy black bodies and bright yellow or gold bands. These snakes are nocturnal, so they do most of their hunting at night, mainly looking for birds, lizards, frogs, small rodents, and even other snakes! Although they are βvenomousβ, their venom isn't considered dangerous to humans, and they're generally quite shy unless they feel threatened.
