It’s Day 1 of posting Buddy every day until he finds a home—he a 4-year-old pup who has been waiting 8 long months for his perfect match.
Before arriving at the haven, his world was a chain and a yard. Now, he’s discovering freedom, soft beds, and what it means to just be a dog.
Buddy is full of personality. He loves adults, loves to run, and his zoomies could win gold medals. Because he’s speedy and strong, little humans might get swept up in his race, so he’s best suited for a home with people that can hold their own. He would thrive as an only dog but does also do well with dogs who do well with him.
We are all about cheering Buddy on, sharing his story, and helping him finally find the place where he belongs. You can help by ➡️ sharing🗣commenting💜and reacting.
✨ Let’s make sure Buddy’s story ends in the happiest way possible.

Etta decided to celebrate thankful Thursday with her very own home.
Etta came to us at the beginning of July as a part of the ten dogs dumped in Somerset that were saved by PSP and Somerset CART. We were then called to assist with these kiddos.
We are so thankful to her fosters for providing her a safe space to heal, get her vet care completed, and for teaching her some structure and a lot of love.
We are thankful to her new family for choosing to add this angel in need to their home and hearts. Etta has a mom and dad who adore her and a furbrother to keep company and run around with. We wish each of them the very best this life can bring them.
Happiest tails, sweetest girl. You are so very loved ❤️

“Lions and tigers and bears… oh my!”
Well, we’ve got the bear part covered—meet Laki, the sweetest little bear cub (ok fine, puppy in a bear snood 😉) looking for her forever home!
This cutie is still a puppy, which means she’s working hard on her commands but sometimes gets distracted by, well… life. She may start off a little shy, but once she feels safe, she’ll happily take over as the ruler of her kingdom (aka your living room). 👑🐻
Laki has done well with both cats and dogs in the past—with a little reassurance, she gets along just fine. What she really needs is a family who will give her patience, love, and maybe a throne or two to lounge on.
✨ Ready to add a little “oh my!” to your home? Laki is waiting for you!

Cauli is giving his best puppy eyes in hopes that it will lure in his new new mom or dad. This one and a half year old boy is both sweet and timid, and he just needs a little time to feel safe. But don’t let that deter you because once he trusts you, he’s a total lovebug – a calm, Velcro pup who’ll follow you all over the place.
Cauli is most comfortable with a woman as his main caregiver and would do best in a quiet home with no small kids or other pets. He is dog-neutral but not necessarily interested in making dog friends. He is however a fan of fetch, belly rubs, and playing in the yard. And as an added bonus, he is house-trained and walks well on leash.
Cali would love someone who is home most of the time so he can spend all his days with you. Truthfully, he just needs patience, love, and a kind heart to help him blossom. And in return, he will promise to give you his whole heart for his whole life. ❤️

🎤Joplin
•Joplin is a young adult (maybe 1-1.5 year old) female hot mess of mixes. Doxy length. Pug tail. Bulldog stance. What else? We aren’t really sure
•She weighs around 18 lbs and is fully grown
•She has already been spayed and had cherry eye surgery, and is current on all vaccines
•Joplin will need some help and patience to continue working on her house training. She is crate trained and does well holding her bathroom needs while inside. She is however a bit barrier reactive to other animals when they pass her in her crate. What does that mean? Well she barks, carries on and acts like a mini terrorist inside one if other animals are passing her crate or behind a gate. This is likely from being a mill dog, or improper use of crating previously
•She does fine with other dogs, she mostly ignores them
•She likes her toys and will grumble if another dog comes by while she has her Benebone. Stuffies/balls etc are fair game though and she doesn’t mind if another dog wants to swipe those.
•She is doing well with her leash walking
•She does take a minute to warm up to new people and will bark at the top of her lungs at first, and believes shes a police dog policing the human race from existing. You have to let her smell you and decide you’re A-ok and then you can be friends.
•She will chase cats but will not harm them and is intimated by their murder mittens
•She has done fine with respectful kids who know manners and don’t try to grab her or pet her until she’s comfy
•she LOVES playing fetch
•She is pretty much a beefed up on ‘roids looking hot dog, who is sweet as pie once you let her do her bouncer duties.
•Joplin will need continued positive associations, patience and lots of love in a new home

Andes celebrated Wonderful Wednesday with a furalwayz home!
Andes, two of his siblings and his mom joined us over the summer as they needed some vet care and help finding proper homes. We knew these kids would be extra energetic and fun loving so thankfully found just the right foster for them.
We are so thankful to his foster for providing him with structure, safety and teaching him all about love and life while he started his vet care and awaited his family.
We are so grateful to his new family for choosing to add this angel in need to their heart and homes. Andes has a wonderful mom and dad, and a few fursiblings to teach him all about the do’s and don’ts of life.
We wish each of you the very best this life can bring you.
Happiest tails, handsome! You are so very loved ❤️

Abby was rescued from a local shelter in September, 2008 at 2 years old. She was beaten, used as a puppy maker and abandoned, tied to a shelter fence on a cold Pennsylvania night. She went on to live with her adoptive mom for the next 9 years and 8 months, bringing joy and leaving happiness where ever her four paws took her.
Abby gained a four legged brother, Bentley, in 2012 and loved him more than anyone else. 2014 brought a four legged sister, Prada, who was rescued from New York after being poisoned and developing pyometra. Early in 2015, a hospice foster entered our home and began our passion for hospice fostering. Frenchie, a 2 year old Staffordshire Terrier, had a balloon valvuloplasty surgery to help h8eal his malfunctioning heart. Frenchie had tricuspid dysplasia, pulmonary stenosis and congestive heart failure. The valvuloplasty afforded him 14 months with us and Abby, before he passed on February 28, 2016.
In 2015, Abby was diagnosed with Mast Cell Cancer. She underwent surgery to remove four masses. After a successful surgery and recovery, she beat cancer. Her “I beat cancer” photo was shared on Facebook and went viral. We were contacted by the Dodo for an interview and she was featured as an article on their website.
In 2017, Quinn, another hospice addition, came to live with us. Quinn had a severely malignant diagnosis of Mast Cell Cancer. She had surgery on her back leg in February to remove a huge tumor and was given a grim diagnosis of maybe 3 months. She arrived in March and in June had emergency surgery for pyometra. During her surgery, a mass was found in her spleen. It was biopsied and was not cancerous as had been thought, and her prognosis was thought to be better than anticipated. We had aspirations done of a few bumps on her head and body in July, and unfortunately the cancer had become even more vicious. We planned for surgery to remove the sites, but they just kept spreading rapidly. We lost Quinn on August 6.
Throughout all of the fosters, temporary stays and new additions, Abby loved and accepted every single being who stepped over our threshold. She viewed life as a playground filled with love and happiness and did her best to brighten the lives of all she met.
In April, 2018, Abby had a devastating seizure that lasted over 20 minutes. She lost her ability to see and hear for over 4 hours. She was in a panic and nothing we could do could help her. We rushed her to our vet who gave her medicine to help her. We were afraid that after such a long seizure, her brain would be affected. She came home the next day and was more or less back to herself for a few days. A week later, she had another seizure. We started her on phenobarbital in hopes that we could get ahead of the attacks and improve her quality of life. She improved for a few weeks and then again we lost ground. She lost the ability to control her movements, her appetite was sporadic and she lost her sense of self. She could never get comfortable and whined constantly, not knowing if she had to go outside, was hungry, wanted to sleep or wanted to be held. We did all we could to comfort her and help her, but felt helpless.
On May 24, we woke up in the morning to her having extreme vomiting and diarrhea. She could not even lift her head. We cleaned her up, made her comfortable and gave her pain meds. I left for an hour to get work situated so I could come home and spend the day with her. When I arrived back home, she was laying in her own vomit and diarrhea and could not move. I cleaned her up and laid down beside her. I stroked her head and told her if it was time for us to let her go, it was ok. We would be ok. She would be ok. And that we loved her more than life. She got up, licked my face and went to wait for her leash. We spent the day together doing all the things she loved, seeing the people she loved and making her last day, the best day.
That afternoon, I said goodbye to the best soul I had ever met. That afternoon, I lost most of my heart and most of my own soul. That afternoon, I vowed to live the rest of my life honoring her in the best way I knew how.
This is how I can do that. Saving lives, wanting to make this world a better place for animals, giving them a chance....that is my purpose. That purpose was inspired back in 2008, when I laid eyes on a scrawny, almost hairless, long tongued Boston Terrier-Pit Bull Mix who stole my heart and showed me my life’s passion and my reason for being.
Abby’s Angels Animal Haven is now her legacy. We thank you for reading our backstory, and for all the support. Without people believing in our purpose and donating time and energy as well as monetary and physical donations, we couldn’t fulfill our mission. So thank you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us remember our girl the best way we can. Thank you for choosing to help us save as many lives like hers as possible.
