This most definitely has been a rough few years. Somewhere between personal health problems, family members health and aging rescues. Today we suffered the loss of Angel an unadoptable dog saved from the Ohio County Animal Shelter in 2012. This morning she took her final breath. RIP sweet girl, you will forever be missed.

As many have already witnessed, Muhlenberg County has been placed under a state of emergency due to severe flooding. The situation is rapidly deteriorating, and we are working diligently to relocate as many dogs as possible to accommodate the anticipated influx from the community. If you represent a rescue organization capable of providing assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are also seeking approved foster caregivers. Several altered dogs are currently available for placement in foster homes, thereby enabling us to provide additional support. If you wish to offer support, kindly communicate with us via messenger. We extend our sincere appreciation to everyone providing assistance during this critical situation.

Our next low cost Spay/Neuter Clinic will be held Wednesday, March 19 & Thursday, March 20, 2025. Register your dog/cat today! Space is limited. Please come down to the Humane Society during normal business hours to sign up your animal.
**PREREGISTRATION AND PREPAYMENT IS REQUIRED. We can only accept cash payment in the exact amount charged (don't forget change and sales tax).**
Register in person Monday-Friday between 11:00am and 4:00pm only.

Our team has been working on confirming appointments as they come through our scheduling system.

Please remember:

🔺 Pricing will be changed the day of surgery- it will show charges when you schedule but we will fix if you show up for your appointment
🔺 If you live in Butler County or Ohio County, please bring your ID the day of surgery for proof of address
🔺 FREE surgeries will only be offered while funds last- if you miss an appointment or have to reschedule we cannot guarantee it will be covered by the grant
🔺 Free spay/neuters for Butler County or Ohio county residents also come with free microchips and vaccines
