Today I rescued a Ruddy Duck that was frozen into the ice in Barnegat Bay 🦆❄️

With the bay icing over, these diving ducks can become trapped and are often unable to free themselves. He’s now warm, safe, and Sure Safe Animal Rescue is providing proper care before being released back where he belongs.

If you ever see wildlife stuck on ice, please call for help or reach out to wildlife authorities. Small actions can save lives. 💙

⚠️ Important reminder:
Do NOT attempt to go out on the ice yourself. Even if it looks thick, that does not mean it’s safe. Ice conditions can change quickly, and you could fall through and seriously get hurt.
