I missed the puppies’ 6- week check in! With the dog show and then preparing garden & Fun Match for our Dog 4H club, it’s been busy here!
Puppies will be 7 weeks old tomorrow (Monday)! They continue to grow so well and accomplish new things every day!! Here are some pics to enjoy!

Now that we have had a day to rest and catch our breaths….Summer & I took the four 9.5-10 mos old puppies to the Apple Blossom cluster/Midwest Collie Club specialties this weekend. Garrett & Gabe accepted the challenge to use the pups in juniors for all 4 shows too.

Friday - Garrett & Duke tried Rally for the first time and got their first qualifying score towards their Novice title! 🏅🙌🏼

The boys did a WONDERFUL job handling the pups - Garrett took Hondo & Gabe took Champ. They both worked hard and showed well with fidgety pups but no love in their classes of 10-12 juniors each at the All breed shows. Gabe won Best Junior Handler on Saturday at the MWCC specialty. 🎉

🐾Hondo - was Winners Dog all four shows, earning a couple points towards his CH title 🎉

🐾Annie - was Winners Bitch/Best of Winners all 4 shows, Best Puppy in both specialties and even was awarded a Best Opp S*x, earning a total of 4 points towards her CH (very close to finishing now!)🎉

🐾 Champ - earned both his majors this weekend, going WD/BOS and then WD/BOW/BOV/BOH!! 🎉

🐾Maple - got her 2nd Major, 4 points toward her CH title going WB/BOW! 🎉

One of the most charming little details found in all Collies is the white tip on the tail — often called the “shepherd’s lantern.”

The term comes from old shepherding lore. As Collies worked sheep in fading light or rough weather, that white tail tip helped shepherds keep visual contact with their dogs at a distance. The tiny flash of white moving through the hills was said to resemble a lantern guiding the way home.

So fun learning tidbits like this! 🐾
