Garbo is one of our Neurology super stars 🤩 and is currently receiving Cytosar treatment. We've asked Dr. Graham for a short explanation on this treatment:
"Cytosar is a medication we use to treat inflammation in the brain and/or spinal cord from an autoimmune disease, known as meningoencephalomyelitis of unknown etiology (MUE). It is actually chemotherapy, but is used in our patients because it suppresses the immune system. Most patients receive the treatment every 3-5 weeks for several months, but treatment is tailored to each individual patient."

CT scans are used to detect structural changes deep within the body. It is one of the best tools used in veterinary medicine because it provides detailed, cross-sectional views of all types of tissue. Your primary care veterinarian may recommend a CT scan to look at anything from the lungs and thorax, nasal passage and sinuses, ears, abdomen and even some orthopedic structures. CT scans are non-invasive and are not painful.

What is Veterinary Internal Medicine?
Internal Medicine is a specialty branch of veterinary medicine involving the treatment and management of more complex conditions affecting pets’ internal organs that often coincide with chronic illnesses. Conditions that cannot be effectively managed by your family veterinarian alone will often receive a consult or be referred to an internal medicine specialist to receive a second opinion or to pursue more advanced care options.
Veterinary internists treat a wide array of diseases that affect internal organs and body systems. They work closely with your primary care veterinarian to find a diagnosis for your pet and form an appropriate treatment plan that will provide them with the highest possible quality of life.
"Happy Birthday to our incredible Neuro tech, Teia! Your dedication, passion, and hard work are truly appreciated by the entire team. Wishing you a day filled with joy, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Here's to another amazing year ahead! 🎉🎂"
What is Veterinary Dermatology?
Dermatology is a field within veterinary medicine that focuses on the treatment or management of conditions relating to a pet’s skin, ear, hair, and paws.
As the largest organ in cats and dogs, there is no surprise that skin-related visits are some of the most common appointments at primary care clinics. From allergies to infections, the list of potential dermatological problems in pets is extensive. Skin-related symptoms can also be a sign of an underlying internal condition.
Most dermatological conditions in pets can be managed with early intervention, regular evaluation with a veterinarian, and by following recommended treatment plans at home.

Why Veterinary MRIs Are Helpful:
Veterinary MRI scans allow us to evaluate the inside of your dog's body in a non-invasive way and can provide us with high-resolution, detailed images of your pet's soft tissues including the brain, spinal cord, ligaments, tendons, and abdominal organs.

Video Otoscopy is the use of a short endoscope that uses a video camera to transmit images to a larger screen for magnification of the ear canal. This makes finding any abnormalities, discharge, or foreign objects much easier. It is a useful and effective tool that uses instruments and irrigation in order to obtain samples from deep in the ear canal as well as to remove debris. The video otoscope may be used for routine examinations and is most commonly employed for cleaning or diagnostic procedures on diseased ears with the patient under general anesthesia. Here, Dr. Woodward performs one on our sweet little patient, Tut to obtain samples for culture.
Trying to encourage one of our sweet surgery patients to go outside to potty. We couldn’t resist sharing this precious little head-tilt 🥰
