Congratulations to Army Veteran Mike Shanley and his dog Tilla-Ming, and Army Veteran Darren Kolek and his dog Bruce, for graduating basic obedience tonight. A very special thank you needs to go out to Kathy Galbraith, Suzanne Laba, and the rest of the training staff at Niagara K9 Training Center for all the help and knowledge over the past six weeks.

We had a great time visiting with the students and staff at ECC's South Campus in Orchard Park this afternoon. A special thanks to Dan Frontera for inviting us to this event the past three days. We always have a great time and we are looking forward to coming back in the spring.

Today we spent some time at ECC’s City Campus for day two of their Mind Body Spirit Student Support event.

Tonight was week five of basic obedience class at Niagara Canine Training Center and it was a great success for both veteran dog teams.

Today we spent a couple of hours at ECC’s North Campus for the Mind, Body, Spirit, Student Support Event. Both dogs did a great job putting smiles on many faces.

Tonight was week three of basic obedience class at Niagara K9 Training Center. It was a very fast-paced class filled with a bunch of tasks. We worked on placing, turning in both directions, circles in both directions, walking slow, fast, and normal. Both pairs are learning quickly and are making great progress with each class. We would also like to point out that both veterans had immediate family members in class who participated in the training. It's important to have family involved in the training so that everyone at home is on board with what we are learning here.

Veterans Day 2025 was a busy day for us. We spent the afternoon and early evening posted up with an informational table at Hofbrauhaus Buffalo for their Veterans Day event. A very big thank you needs to go out to Bob and Peg Hamels for the invitation and the awesome food. Following this event, we went over to Niagara K9 Training Center for week two of basic obedience classes for Army Veterans Mike and Darren. Both veterans and dogs did great and are making very good progress together. We worked on placing, walking, and turning. Trust building is happening with both pairs, and we are excited to see what next week brings.

Check out this morning’s Wake Up Niagara interview that we were invited to by our good friend Philip Kauppinen who is the owner of Grand New Flag in Medina. Phillip has been donating 5% of his yearly earnings to our program since 2019 and we cant thank him enough for his efforts. Last night, Army Veteran Mike Shanley, his dog Tilla, and Army Veteran Darren Kolek, his dog Bruce, started a basic obedience class at Niagara K9 Training Center. This will be a six-week course run by Kathy Galbraith and assisted by our very own retired Air Force Veteran Suzanna Laba.
