Gemma came in wanting everything but her handler—nose glued to the ground, barking at every dog and person that passed by.

Fast forward one week… and it’s a completely different dog. Calm, focused, and even choosing to disengage from dogs entering her space 👏

That’s the goal. We can’t always control the environment or the stressors around us—but we can teach our dogs how to respond to them.

Confidence > chaos. Every single time. 🐕✨

Big shoutout to Blue the mini poodle mix on an incredible first week 👏🏽

This guy came in VERY vocal and easily pulled into everything happening around him—but now we’re already seeing a shift. Blue is learning how to disengage, check in, and focus on his handler instead of reacting to the world around him.

That’s where real progress happens.

He’s not just being “quieter”…he’s building the skills to think, choose calm, and move with confidence. And it’s showing more every single day.

Proud of this dude. We’re just getting started 🔥🐾

Spring has been bringing in some awesome new training partners 🌸🐾

Every dog you see here just started their journey with me — all with different goals, personalities, and challenges. I’m grateful for every owner who trusts me to help guide their dog in the right direction.

Now the real work begins. 💪🐕

If you’ve been thinking about training, spring is one of the best times to start.

Manners Monday 🐾

One of the easiest ways to start building impulse control is at feeding time.

If your dog rushes the bowl, jumps, or spins in circles, slow the process down.

Here’s the rule:

➡️ Rush the bowl → it goes away
➡️ Wait calmly → you get fed

Small routines like this teach your dog that calm behavior unlocks rewards.

Training doesn’t only happen during sessions.
It happens in everyday moments like this.

Manners Monday 🚗

If your dog turns into a rocket the second the car door opens… you’re not alone.

Most dogs get rewarded for excitement around the car without realizing it.

Better rule:

The car door doesn’t mean go.

Ask for:
• A pause before jumping in
• Calm behavior in the car
• A wait before exiting

These small manners make a huge difference in safety, focus, and overall behavior.

A dog that can stay calm around the car is a dog that’s much easier to take everywhere.

Mando takes his nose work very seriously… until he doesn’t. 😂🐶
Mental enrichment like nose work is one of the best ways to tire your dog out without running them into the ground. It taps into their natural instincts, builds confidence, and makes training way more fun for both of you.

Plus… sometimes you get moments like this.

Some dogs take treats… and some dogs launch at them like a shark. 🦈🐶

Teaching your dog to take treats gently is a small skill that makes a big difference in your training. When dogs learn patience around rewards, they start showing more self-control, focus, and calm behavior in other areas too.

Here’s the simple rule:
If your dog grabs → the treat disappears.
If your dog slows down → the treat appears.

Clear communication builds better manners.

Small habits like this add up to a dog that’s easier to live with and easier to train.

If your dog rushes the door, this is the first skill you should teach.

Door opens = sit and wait.

It builds impulse control, prevents bolting, and makes greeting guests way easier.

Simple structure creates calm dogs.

Downtime at the harbor still looks like training.

When your dog understands structure, engagement, and clear communication, you can take them anywhere — busy streets, crowds, cameras, distractions… it doesn’t matter.

That’s the goal we train for.
