With warmer weather, travel plans picking up, and many of my regulars already booked, I’m down to just a handful of openings for May boarding and small group daycare.

This is a little different than a traditional kennel—
I keep things intentionally small so each dog gets real attention, a calm environment, and a structured, enriching day.

If your pup thrives with:
• A peaceful, home-like stay (not a loud, overwhelming space)

Meet Lily and Macie, the Frenchie. They are spunky, funny, and full of energy. Lily has one objective: Get human to play ball or tug of war. Luckily Macie helps me out sometimes. And they provide all the entertainment when she does! Macie snorts, grumbles, hops, and definitely has more power than her appearance.

Took my crew out for a waterfall hike last night 🌿🐾

This right here… this is why I do what I do.

Not just running in a yard, not just “getting through the day”…
but real freedom, real movement, real experiences.

Watching dogs learn how to move together, check in, and just enjoy being dogs out here is everything.

This is the kind of life I want for every dog that stays with me: safe, structured, and full of adventure.

Traditional kennel boarding often means lots of barking, rows of runs, rotating staff, and dogs spending a big part of the day waiting for their turn.

Small-group boarding here is different.

At Adventure Awaits Fido!, dogs stay in a more personal, home-like environment with intentional small groups, careful introductions, real supervision, outdoor time, rest, play, and enrichment built into the day.

I get to actually know each dog’s personality — who loves to play, who needs a slower introduction, who wants extra cuddles, who loves exploring, and who just wants a cozy, peaceful place to relax.

This is not a high-volume, one-size-fits-all setup.

Out on the trails at Lake Russell Recreation Area! (Or other local trails)
Moving through the woods with purpose.
Taking in new terrain, new scents, new experiences that actually engage on every level.

Cooper showed up in a cone, and he still did not miss a single moment of it.

We explored the Lady Slipper Trail. It is technically a loop, but you first follow a steady path up before it opens into the loop itself, and then return the same way you came. It ends up tracing the shape of a lollipop, and it creates this natural rhythm where the dogs transition from anticipation, to exploration, and then back into a calm, grounded return

And he surprised me: Composed, attentive, easy to guide, and completely present.
Just a dog out doing exactly what he is meant to do.

This is the part I get excited about.

It is not just exercise.
It is not just getting energy out.

It is exposure.
It is confidence.
It is fulfillment.

It is watching a dog step into a new environment and realize they can handle it, navigate it, and explore in nature.

It is the look in their eyes when they sniff a new smell, climb over a hill, splash in a stream, or gaze over a stunning view.

Most dogs do not get this.

They stay in the same yard.
Walk the same streets. (Or roam the same streets)
See the same things.

Daycare at Adventure Awaits Fido! 🐾💦🌿

Today felt like one of those perfect dog days.
We loaded up and headed over to our original dog park — the big, natural one tucked into the woods where the dogs can just… be dogs. 🌲

Levi (our bluetick explorer), Fern (husky/lab mix with main character energy), and Rosie (sweet English Lab queen) absolutely took over the day.

Think: zoomies, sniffing every leaf like it holds secrets, and full-send splashing in the pool 💦

Fern claimed the pool first (obviously), Rosie followed like, “okay fine, I’ll join,” and Levi rotated between water patrol and woodland investigator 🕵️‍♂️🌿

Meanwhile, Mia…
Mia said, “y’all have fun, I’m working.” 😂
She lives for training days and kept checking in like the overachiever she is. Heel, sit, watch me… little perfectionist.

After playtime, we slowed things down with a walk through the trees — letting everyone decompress, sniff, and just enjoy the quiet side of the adventure.

This is what I love most.
Not chaos. Not overcrowded yards.
Just the right group of dogs, matched thoughtfully, getting to play, explore, learn, and actually enjoy their day.

A little bit of camp. A little bit of structure. A whole lot of happy dogs. 🐕

Jasper 🐾 (aka gentle giant with a big heart)

I’m a little behind on posting because we’ve been BUSY… but I had to share his story 💛

When his mom first called me, she was honestly really shaken up. Jasper had just been at another boarding facility for a temperament test… and within 10 minutes of being there, he panicked and took off.

Thankfully he was found quickly, but she knew right away that the environment just wasn’t the right fit for him.

She brought him straight to me after picking him up, and we took our time letting him quietly explore both dog parks, see the kennel building (more like a home setting), get comfortable, and just breathe for a minute.

Two days later, he came back to stay for 6 nights… and I promised her I’d watch him like a hawk. And I did.

(Honestly, that’s just how it is here.)

Every time Jasper was outside, I was right there. We kept things slow, calm, and safe. For the first few days, he stayed on leash under supervision while he settled in.

At first, he was anxious—some pacing, a little whining—but he stayed right by my side and soaked up all the pets 🥹And little by little… he started to relax.

What I loved most about Jasper is how calm and steady he is. Even when he wasn’t playing yet, his presence actually helped calm the other dogs. Everyone liked him right away.
He just didn’t quite know what to do yet.

Until day 5 😏

Cooper came to daycare… and suddenly Jasper discovered play bows, zoomies, and wrestling 😂
(Cooper tried his best… but let’s just say Jasper made him look a little silly 🤭)

By the end of his stay, he was relaxed, comfortable, and interacting naturally with the group.
And at night? He turned into the biggest cuddle bug.

He’d basically ask me to lay down with him and watch a movie… and honestly, I couldn’t say no 🥹

Dogs like Jasper are exactly why I do this.
Not every dog needs a big, busy environment. Some just need time, patience, and someone paying close attention.

And when you give them that… you get to watch them come out of their shell in the best way 💛
