Every Horse Has Something To Offer

I started riding horses when I was 11 years old in Texas. I continued riding my aunts horses when my family and I moved back to California. These horses meant everything to me. They were older horses, one from a rental string in Mexico and the other horse did Mexican rodeos in CA. Both had never done obstacle challenges before but quickly adapted to their new job as EXCA horses. I was 14 when I first showed them and was humbled by how much we really needed to learn. Roping cows and running down the trail was very different from a controlled lope to a sliding stop and obstacles they had never seen before. By the time I was a senior is High School, I knew I wanted to train horses.

In 2015, Toro and Itzel came in 4th and 6th in Youth and 7th in Intermediate in the World Championships of the Extreme Cowboy Association (E.X.C.A.). They were in their mid 20s!! That same year Extreme Mustang Makeover (E.M.M) Silver and I came in 4th Overall and 3rd in Freestyle. Silver Star won my heart and therefore was not adopted out, I couldn't bare to part with her. She stayed with me and continues to thrive in her daily training program. She is 4 years old and under saddle now! I hope to show the world her versatility and be an ambassador for America's Mustang. She's my forever horse.

Since then I've continued to train mustangs for the Extreme Mustang Makeovers, show my own horses, and train client horses. I really enjoy starting c**ts and working with "difficult horses". I love seeing their eyes soften as they start to realize they are being allowed to go at their pace. It's very rewarding to see a once fearful horse build confidence in themselves to do things they couldn't before. I'm blessed to have clients that are patient with their horses and with me.

All the horses I train are exposed to as much as possible, and showing them at our local EXCA races is usually their first show. I try to expose horses to obstacle challenges, roping, cow work and as much ranch work as possible to create a dependable all around companion for anyone. Some take a little longer to start using their thinking side of the brain, others catch on quickly.
