The seven-week Summer Academy, better known around here as the "Summer Equestrian Fun Club," starts tomorrow, 6/25. There are still three slots available. The academy includes one private/semi-private lesson per week plus the two-hour Tuesday evening group. Summer Intersession is designed to catapult your child's riding to a new level while including fun games such as mock barrel racing, trail riding, an obstacle course in Sherwood Forest, etc.

Imagine for a minute a racehorse, too slow to win. The owner doesn't want the expense of him on the payroll so he gets sent to auction. Auction = a crap shoot! He might be picked up by someone who wants him for themselves orrrrr..... he may be picked up by a kill buyer, to be sent to slaughter. It's a roll of the dice. How many horses are there on a certain day, is the weather conducive to people driving to the auction, is the "right buyer" there for this guy?

Here is a horse that fits that profile, except the owner reached out to us and asked if we wanted him instead of sending him to auction. That's the backstory of Whopper, a 20 year old thoroughbred that just wasn't going to win... fortunately for him his owner knew my husband and offered him to us, saying Whopper would go to the auction if we didn't want him.

Here's a video of this amazing schoolmaster who rides like silk...no buck, no rear, no bad habits...just a great horse that gives his all to his rider!

US Horse Welfare & Rescue is excited to announce a new era! Positive energy abounds as 3 new instructors, each with incredible credentials and success as riders and trainers, join the team.
Stan Siniarski competed in Hunter/Jumpers at Junior & Adult Amateur levels before becoming a professional at age 26. He has taken students all the way to nationals, has been on the board of CHSA, and is a member in good standings with USEF, USHJA, CHJA, CHSA, FWPHA, NEHC, and Marshall & Sterling. Stan is a local schooling show judge. Riders always have positive comments after their lessons regarding how much they have learned.
Kristine Gallagher, a phenomenal Dressage and Eventing rider and trainer, has stepped back from the high-level showing that took her to Florida with well-known individuals to have a quieter life. Most recently, she was the trainer for a barn with 40 Gypsy Vanners. Now, most days, Kristine trains dogs with her husband, but she keeps her hands into horse and rider training here with us one evening per week.
