We have a situation here 😞 This homeless & feral kitten in Ava is pretty sick, and needs to have his eye removed. He is currently in the care of Dr. Carroll at Williams Supply Outpost Veterinary Clinic awaiting surgery. His siblings and his mama are also homeless and living on the streets, and are also very, very sick and in need of care, including long lasting antibiotics for severe upper respiratory infections. If you are able to contribute to their care, please call in donations directly to Williams Vet in Ava, or donate to Ava MO Spay and Neuter Program - aaawlj on Facebook, through PayPal (link is on their page in the “about” section, via USPS mail, or any of their donation cans at some businesses in town. (Photos are a few weeks old, taken when I added new items!) Our booth at Set Free Ministries Resale Shop is stocked again! Our stuff is sprinkled around the entire store, so look for tags that read “kitten rescue” or “animal rescue”. Thank you to all who shop our booth-it has allowed me to stock up on some essentials, and purchase more building supplies to finish the cattery that is not quite finished yet.

My Malinois and I were rounding up straggler goats this morning on Y Hwy, just west of Cowskin Creek. She was on the other side of a patch of trees, near the highway, circling around. I heard and saw a lighter blue, four door vehicle, similar to a Cherokee or S10 slow down and then continue west on Y (towards the pavement break). My Malinois did not respond to verbal or ecollar afterwards, so I believe she was picked up. She may still be in the area but I believe it is very unlikely. This was around 10am this morning. Any assistance in locating her is appreciated. She is wearing a black Dogtra Ecollar. Responds to the name “Ishai”. Is friendly and VERY well trained. Thank you!

For what it is worth, whoever picked her up, assuming she was picked up, may have had good intentions…

Imagine wanting to run a rescue.
To help cats.
And doing it for free.

Then realizing you will have to do that around everyone else’s:
Vacations
Surgeries
Illness
Mental health
Work schedule
Forgetfulness and lack of planning
Vehicle breakdowns
Home renovations
And preferences; because they wanted to foster the friendly, healthy kittens instead of the sick, feral ones who REALLY needed rescue.

While also working your own full time job and dealing with life like everyone else.
And still have folks constantly reminding you to be nicer, have more patience, and return every single call and message.

I was an absolute clown 🤡 to think this was a good idea some 20 years ago.

I need someone willing and capable to foster this pair of kittens for the next 2 weeks. Until they are eating well *on their own*. They need to be syringe fed a couple times a day. NO, you do not have to be home all day to manage this. YES, we provide all food and medical. NO, they cannot run around your whole house. They are right on the cusp of when kittens typically start eating on their own. They cannot stay at the shelter. They are too small and vulnerable to be exposed to everything here.

Someone please help me.
