Sam is a freshman Horse Science major from Summersville, WV and she rides her personal horse TCF ROYAL CREED. Her pick me up for shows is Red Bull and sweet tart ropes and she enjoys making things with her sourdough starter. Her favorite class to show in is the cow work!

We are so proud of Tristan!

Thanks to everyone who participated in our Trainer Calf Scramble this summer—we were proud to award three $500 scholarships to outstanding youth riders. 💙

First up: Tristan Cox. Tristan lives in Wytheville, Virginia, and began showing reined cowhorses at the age of 14. Tristan is a wonderful representative of our sport and our community, and his scholarship essay captured the heart of our discipline:

"I have been blessed to be able to learn from a number of incredible trainers on the east coast. It always blows me away how willing every trainer is to help anyone who they see is struggling or who asks them. This has been a principle that I have tried to apply in my own life, how we are all better off if we are willing to help one another, even if we're competing against each other in the show pen or from different teams. There are several of our east coast trainers who I would consider role models in my personal life."

We kicked off our 2026 show season at the 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐰 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰 in 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐧, 𝐓𝐍!

Our team finished as follows 👇

Skyler and 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧 finished up 3rd in the L1 Open Hackamore HS1, bringing home a check for owner Brooke Anderson

𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝑩𝒆𝒕𝒔 𝑫𝒐𝒘𝒏 and Brie Anderson also had a great show, pulling a check every time in the pen with big cow scores all weekend. They finished up 4th both days in a stout Youth Boxing class, and 5th in a large Limited Non Pro Boxing class on HS1.

𝑳𝒊𝒍 𝑩𝒊𝒕 𝑫𝒊𝒕𝒛𝒚 and Emma Leath put together some of their best runs yet, and even pulled their first check as a team placing 4th in the Green Rider 1.

𝑻𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒐𝒔 𝑯𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝑫𝒐𝒍𝒍 and Misty Crigger also put together some nice runs in the Green Rider 1! We're excited to see this team continue to progress.

We were happy to be a part of the Atlantic Reined Cow Horse Association Winter Invitational last weekend! We had a great time bringing the Reined Cow Horse to the Pennsylvania Farm Show.

Skyler and 𝐀𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐂𝐚𝐭 finished 1st in the Open Fence bringing home a nice check for owner Anita Cox

Skyler and 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧 finished 4th in the Open Fence bringing home a check for the Anderson family

𝐀𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐂𝐚𝐭 and Tristan Cox finished just 1/2 point out of the money in a competitive Non Pro Boxing class
