We had so much fun at Yorkville’s Biz Boo! What a great way to introduce ourselves to one of the new communities we service. It was such a busy day, we handed out over 1,000 pieces of candy…so excuse us if we look exhausted in that group photo. 🤪

Theories are just that. Just an idea until they are proven true. And like many ideas, this trend has been out of style for decades.

While backyard trainers will try to spin what your dog does into flashy terms like "alpha" and "asserting dominance", your dog is not built with this software.

While it makes sense to us because we live in a "top down" system, dogs are just doing what works for them and they don't function in this hierarchy.

By claiming this theory, they can attempt to justify the use of fear, intimidation, corrections and pain to "fix" the problem... they have no choice but to try to take back "leadership".

These out of control trainers are using smoke and mirrors to justify their inability to work with and understand your dog.

Even the scientists who considered this to be true quickly realized that they were wrong when wolves, who were (and still inaccurately are) the justification for this blueprint were realized to be living in family groups instead of being ruled by an alpha.

Come join us in the 2000’s where it’s uncool to train this way!

Late last week one of our pack members crossed the rainbow bridge. 🌈

Tucker will always hold a special place in our hearts. We’ll miss his grumpy boy attitude, with the occasional spurt of the zoomies. We’re sad to lose another family member but find comfort in knowing he’s no longer in pain.

The corner behind the family room chair will always be his spot. We hope he swims until his heart’s content and continues to be the first in line at dinner time. Till we meet again on the other side of the rainbow bridge. ❤️

P.S give a hug to Jersey Mae and Shadow Bird for us all.

Hi everyone, I have some exciting news!
🎉 We bought a house in Aurora, IL🎉
I now have much more land for training and will be adding boarding to our list of services.

With this new development, WPPC’s service area has changed. It will now include Sugar Grove, Montgomery, Oswego and the surrounding areas. I’m sad to leave the Bartlett area and thank all of my past clients for the support!

⚠️WARNING WHEN FREEZING TREAT TOYS

Please ensure that if you are stuffing treat toys and freezing them for your pets to help keep them cool, dont forget to ensure there is a HOLE ALL OF THE WAY THROUGH IT.

WHY YOU MAY ASK ?

Toys such as Kongs have 2 holes in their toys for a reason - TO PREVENT SUCTION.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT ?

When your pet licks at the contents of the toy or squeezes it in its mouth, their tongue can get SUCKED into the hole and get STUCK on the dogs tongue and cause horrific injuries to the point where the animal can actually die.

Having 2 HOLES in the toy PREVENTS this from happening.

So if you STUFF your toys with treats, push a straw through it to ensure the 2 HOLES ARE NOT BLOCKED.

If you are going to FREEZE the toy, do so with the straw in place and then REMOVE the straw before giving it to your pet.

So when buying your pet toys, please keep this in mind.
