This was filmed last Wednesday morning at the shelter… and what started as routine turned into something no one expected. 🐾💔
The volunteer was Donna. She had been showing up every week, doing the quiet work no one notices—scanning, logging, helping.
That morning, a stray had just come in.
A massive, snow-white Great Pyrenees.
He looked strong… but tired.
Thin. Silent. Gentle with everyone.
No collar.
No history.
Just another intake.
Donna picked up the scanner like always.
Ran it slowly across his thick neck.
Beep.
She glanced at the screen—then froze.
A name.
A number.
A record.
Missing… 22 months ago.
Her hands started shaking.
This wasn’t just a dog.
This was someone’s lost family.
She sat down right there on the floor beside him…
and made the call.
“Sir… I think we found your dog.”
Silence.
Then disbelief.
“That's not possible…”
But it was.
That same afternoon, the owner drove hours without stopping.
The moment he walked in—
The Great Pyrenees lifted his head…
paused…
Then exploded with life.
A deep, joyful bark filled the shelter.
His tail wagged wildly as he ran forward—
Like not a single day had passed.
22 months.
And he still remembered. 🤍
They collapsed into each other.
Holding on… like they were afraid to lose it again.
Donna stood there, watching quietly.
Because this…
This is why she never skips a scan.
Sometimes, it’s just routine.
Sometimes… it’s everything.

Regarding the most recent stray dog situation...
I need you all to come through for me. We know his story, we know his general roaming area. We need to find him before 7 pm today. He has a new home waiting for him and his ride will be leaving town around that time. HELP ME SEND HIM ON!!

Let's get a biscuit trail/twilight bark going... Comment when and where you saw him! We're going to narrow it down from there.

**Home Again!!**
3 vagabonds off the beaver creek were brought in this evening after spending all day at a farmstead that wasn't theirs.

Found South of McDonald around Road 5 and Road G. Someone is missing these 3! They are clearly well cared for and loved. No microchips, no tags, just perimeter collar that is probably out of battery 😅
