Hello. I have two bottle babies the older one is 9w old and the other is 3w old. The older one I’m starting to wean this week. It’s been very hot here in the high 90s-low 100s the last 3 days. They have been happy playful little goats till today.
This morning at first bottle feed the baby one had no interest and his & was covered in diarrhea. I searched the pen and the outside enclosure and found one pile of diarrhea so very recent. The other ate half his bottle then had not interest and his p**p was in clumps. They both have full access to fresh water, minerals, hay and grain.
The only thing I can think of is I have cut there foraging time short during the day due to the heat. I can keep them cool and shaded in there pen. Our field is in constant sun so I thought I was doing them a favor… maybe I wasn’t?
Thanks for any advice!
