We ventured out yesterday bright and early at 7:15 to school for the first time at Ashland Farm! It’s so beautiful and we are so excited to go back in July.

We had 7 horses go and schooled XC, Stadium, and Dressage. Thankful for the ladies who made sure riders always had cold water, students who displayed wonderful horsemanship, and Ashland for such a beautiful and shady facility.

Lots of NEW! New lease horses. New location schooling. New fence heights. New dressage tests. New challenges on courses. Very educational and LOADS of fun! 🤩

Madilyn & Sarah took their horses to GDCTA Area III camp at Stable View in Aiken last week.

They were able to clinic and audit that week with international riders. Daily dressage lessons with all different trainers as well as stadium, XC, Q&A sessions, lectures, a XC demonstration with Waylon Roberts, and auditing all of the other sessions.

Many new exercises, techniques, analogies, and tools in their tool boxes. The horses learned a lot as well.

Thanks to everyone who helped hold down the farm while Sarah traveled.

Thanks to GDCTA for hosting a great week. Stable View was a great experience.

What a mess the weather has been lately!! Thankfully we found some sunshine and ride time this week!

Had SO much fun with Laura Holcombe, Madilyn, Montse, and Anna Wilson. We went to Poplar for the schooling show. Vallencio was amazing. Very good boy!! Turbo and montse were too. 2nd in dressage and 5th in O/F. Too slow. Hehehe. Pari Rock was the only horse clear in her division. Iris got her first ever tummy ache….at a show! Ruined the show experience, but Anna handled ot well!! She’s ok now, but definitely ate a ton of hay and didn’t drink enough water. Her soaked feed, Salt, electrolytes , and hand walks weren’t enough apparently!

Proud of them all. Way to go!!

April was a whirlwind month here at the farm!!

County Saddlery- Georgia is working with us on saddle fittings! Mags Mobile Tack, LLC assisted in outfitting Vallencio also with the new Correct Connect short girth (10/10 - we LOVE it!), as well as the new LeMieux Finesse and HKM crystal dressage pads. I highly recommend MMT!

We are enjoying new faces and new fun exercises! Lots of fitness work for the ponies on hills, Pessoa rigging, and cavaletti work!

I can’t believe it. We have several young ladies graduating this month 🎓 and I am so excited to brag on them!

Victoria Giddens is heading to UWG in the fall and I couldn’t be more proud of her. She’s been with me for many years and it will be bitter sweet to see her open this new chapter. I have had the blessing of seeing her develop into the intelligent, kind, funny, and talented young lady she is today. I am so so thankful for her!

Avery Pruitt is already taking college courses (!!), but graduating high school heading on to UGA!! What an exciting time to embark on. Avery has also been with me for years and I have to say….she has been incredibly mature and driven. Between working, riding horses, 4-H, high school AND college classes, a social life, church, and competitions I don’t know where she found time to sleep. Proud of you!!! That was exhausting I am sure! You made it look easy.

Kyla Kaiser rode with me for years then works for me at the farm. I have known her forever and had the privilege of seeing her grow up since middle school. I know she will absolutely be successful in this next chapter. She’s headed to College of Coastal Georgia. She is an absolute pleasure to work with and has the best attitude. Thank you for letting me be a part of your journey!

Our barn will have a hole in it once you have left ladies. Praying for your journey. Just remember we are praying for you, rooting for you, and it is ok to not have it all figured out yet. Love you guys!!

We have had loads of fun with a little friendly competition between students and trainer!!

The test is to accurately predict how many strides between the canter ground pole in the middle of the arena to both a smaller longer approach jump tracking left as well as a bigger jump set with a shorter approach tracking right.

Riders estimate numbers of strides for each and tell me. I estimate and tell them my prediction. Then they ride it. Closest person to the actual strides ridden wins.

So much fun!! Way to go everybody. Tough exercise!

While we don’t school full courses at height often, we definitely break the necessary skills down and practice those on the flat and over fences!!

Had SO much fun.

Ladies group fun today! First, we rode in the ring. Then moved to the field. Then went down the road. Afterwards, we had snacks and hung out! So relaxing. Proud of the ladies and horses today.

We are very lucky to have Perfekt retired now at our farm. Today he shares his 28th birthday with the resurrection of Jesus Christ!!

Happy birthday Perfekt. We love love love you! 😘
