We had an incredible Trail Crew Leader Class with (CRNRA) this past weekend. We’ve been running this class with the CRNRA for close to 15 years making it the longest running Trails Education program in the Southeast!

We had volunteers from the Trail Blazer program at the CRNRA, folks from and and Trail Staff from and who all attended free of charge on behalf of 's trails education fund.

Trails Education is a pillar of our non profit work and this workshop represents a $2,800 contribution to our partners from MTB Atlanta but the knowledge that these volunteers and staff gained will pay untold dividends as they apply their new found skills managing volunteer trail work at the CRNRA and on trails across Metro Atlanta!

Thanks to the good folks who gave up their weekend for trail stewardship on the public lands they love and to Park staff for helping us facilitate the Class.

Also thanks to the CRNRA for providing their amazing conference room and for giving us access and great trails to ride at the park!

As we look forward to 2025, we are taking a look back at and accomplishments in 2024.

The most significant milestone was completing the work of the $1,000,000 Chestnut Family Foundation Grant which finished every shovel ready project that MTB Atlanta had ready and in most cases partially built and funded.

This grant work was started in January 2023 and completed in April 2024 netting 25 miles of new trails in 8 different parks and the first pumptrack in the State of Georgia.

It took two crews and 10 trail builders and a the Velosolutions Crew to complete all the work and the project manager and designer on all builds was our Executive Director Brett Davidson (.)

Huge thanks again to the Chestnut Family Foundation for this game changing contribution to mountain biking and trail development for outdoor recreation in Metro Atlanta.

Next up on our 2025-2027 volunteer Board profiles is Cliff Seal.

Cliff is returning to serve on the Executive Committee as Secretary for his third term.

From Cliff- " I'm a native ATLien and a notorious fan of suffering on a bike. I want Atlanta to be a safe, inclusive city for biking—whether that’s on gravel, roads, bike paths, or trails. Bikes provide a sense of freedom and autonomy that everyone deserves to experience.

When I’m not biking, I work as a UX Architect at Salesforce and co-host a podcast about music."

Thanks to Cliff for his service over the years and most recently for his invaluable contribution consulting on 's recent CRM transition from IMBA with SORBA's Executive Board.

With nominations and elections complete it's time to meet your 2025- 2027 Volunteer Board.

First up it's a short bio from Jonas Silver serving us for the first time as an At Large Board member.

"Born and raised in Atlanta, but have lived in many areas across the US including the Pacific Northwest. I have been a Technology Professional all of my career and have used mountain biking as my great escape to decompress from the day and to meet others.  You will see me out around the Northside Metro Atlanta trails always getting my cardio in and helping with trail work on my rides or at work parties.  Stop and say hi!

I also volunteer with Dirty Spokes in their trail run series supporting the runners in some capacity.

When schedule allows I race Enduros on the weekends around the southeast.

Always great meeting new faces and places as well as supporting all the great advocacy and trail work being done across the Southeast. "
