Over the years, my pets have helped me navigate the difficulties and challenges of life and for that I am so very grateful to them. Forming this little business seemed a perfect way to join my two greatest loves; art and pets. I do not use a computer or digital filters. I take the images you send to me and I work in the traditional artistic method of drawing and painting by sight and hand. Many “p

ortrait artists” you see on the web now are simply rendering your photos with a computer program. I work very diligently to capture the emotion of the eyes and any defining characteristics that make your pet unique. Most portraits take me 4-8 hours to complete. For Watercolor portraits I work with Windsor & Newton professional watercolors on Arches archival 100% cotton watercolor paper. For colored pencil portraits, I use Derwent colored pencils on Clairefontaine pastelmat. I seal the portraits with cold wax to protect it for years to come. Your pet is your companion... the one that gives you unconditional love. They wait for you to come home, greet you with joy and maybe a toy. They make you feel valued and loved. What a gift our pets are for us and they will always live in our hearts. A portrait of your beloved pet is one way to always keep them close by.

This is my latest commission for a Bengal Cat for a sweet lady in south Florida. The cat's name is "Ciril". This one took about 12 hours. I used Polychromos Pencils, Pastels, Mineral Spirits and Cold Wax.
