STORY TIME:

This is Sophia and boy oh boy have we had a day with her… Sophia, who is truly undoubtably sweet, was absolutely terrified of the kennels in PetSense. We decided to give her a week or so to adjust, but the poor girl was just so scared. After she escaped from the kennel during feeding time today, it took us several hours to find her again. During this time she was hissing, swatting, and was acting feral. This was truly a shock to our Axanar team, and we were in complete distress over her.

We decided that she 100% needs to stay as a foster cat rather than a pet store cat. Because of this, it will be a little harder to find her a home. The young lady just needs a lot of space rather than being confined into the kennel with Tom, who has been adopted. She loved Tom, and got upset when people would try to give him love and attention. She was just trying to be his protector.

Once we caught her and got her in a carrier, we put a blanket over her and gave her some time to relax and calm down. Once she was out of the pet store, she was as sweet as she normally is. It was as if she flipped the switch back to her normal self.

We hope to find her a home that can accommodate her nervousness and will let her be a home body. Sophia is one of the many kitties that had a rough upbringing and truthfully needs boundaries and patience. She was dumped onto one of our foster’s driveways and was abandoned by her previous family.

Sophia finds comfort in other cats and warms up quickly to adults, but can be iffy with young children and lots of energy. THIS CAT NEEDS PATIENCE AND PERSONAL SPACE. She will not be cuddly right away and she won’t be comfortable while she’s adjusting. Although she’s a little bit of a harder cookie, she’s still a good one and deserves a chance at finding a home.

This was a huge learning curve for our rescue, and we will do our best to take more time with our more challenging intakes. It may be difficult sometimes, but every pet deserves a chance at a better life and our goal is to achieve that. We will do our best to work with Sophia and ease her anxieties of abandonment and captivity.

Guppy is another one of our babies that we’ve raised essentially since birth. She was dumped at a fire station, and then brought to us! She has always had quite the personality and has been keeping us on our toes. For quite some time, we thought she was intersex. Honestly, we’re still not 100% sure but we’re thinking maybe female?? Over time, she also developed black tabby patterns and has quite a unique coat. She’s so cute and quirky in so many ways and was accepted immediately by mama phoebe and her litter mates. She’s a complete attention hog and just wants to be on your shoulder/chest all day. Overall, she’s like a 10/10 cat. You should totally send in an application for her! 😉💙🐾

Little Miss Tina may be shy, but she’s so silly when she lets her personality out! We’ve had Tina for a few weeks now and she’s just been the sweetest. She doesn’t care too much for other cats, but that’s a part of her charm. she loves people and is so sweet and cuddly 24/7. She has no issue living with other pets, she just prefers to hog all the attention for herself.

Tina is available for adoption and is ready for her new home! 💙🐾

Look at all of these sweet kittens! This litter is a combination of several kittens that needed help. Mama phoebe helped us save all these babies and took on 3 kittens with her daughter Emma. After all this time, they are all ready to find their new homes.

We have had a crazy day at the rescue. After picking up one of our newest additions, Pinot Grigio (orange kitten from a previous post), we went back to pick up his two siblings.

As soon as we get the kittens home to the rescue, the carrier falls apart and the two babies ran away. Turns out there were two bolts missing.

We searched everywhere for them, even the storm drain by our home. Yes, we went down there a put a trap down just in case. We found one hiding on the wheel of the car, and kept looking for the other. After a little while, Crysstal heard a small meow coming from the same car.

The other kitten went into the bodywork of the car. We had to get a jack while our neighbors came over to help. They were able to get under the car and fish the kitten out.

Sometimes we have rough days and things just can’t seem to go smoothly. We are so thankful to have such kind neighbors and a great community to help us rescue cats and kittens. We will be going back to pick up their mama soon. 💙🐾

✨IVY✨ Ivy is one of our kittens from our lil nugget litter. She is a cute little white and grey tabby girl at about 8 weeks old. She will definitely keep you on your toes! She’s super playful and demands attention 24/7. After play time, she is super loving and loves b***y scratches and cuddling. 💙🐾

Ivy is available for pre-adoption. Once she is spayed, she will be ready to go home!

We love all of the cuddle puddles! We’ve had all of these kittens for weeks, and they’re almost ready to go home. Within the next few weeks, we will be scheduling their spay/neuter appointments and vaccinations. After they’re all healed up, they’ll be ready to go! All of our amazing foster parents have been doing a phenomenal with raising, bottle feeding, and socializing these babies. They’re all great with people and other pets. They’re as happy as can be. 💙🐾
